The Mission Ridge Ski Team, established in 1967, has a long lustrous history. The club is recognized throughout the United States and Canada for developing athletes from the beginning level racer to the U.S. Ski Team . The program has prided itself in helping develop not only talented racers, but also quality citizens who continue to contribute to their local communities.

In 2006, we incorporated as the Mission Ridge Ski Education Foundation (MRSEF). As a non-profit (501.c.3), all donations are tax deductble.

The Mission Ridge Ski Education Foundation is dedicated to quality training and competitive experience for all levels of skiers. Our coaching promotes athletic development from beginner to elite levels. We strive to create a healthy competitive environment that includes character development and sportsmanship. Currently MRSEF trains 55 athletes ranging from age 7-19 with commitment levels that range from one-day per week training to 5-days per week.

PROGRAM OFFERINGS:

The Alpine Super Group program (ASG), and Entry Level Program (ENL) are for athletes 12 years and younger. The goal is to develop enthusiastic lifetime participants in the sport of skiing by developing basic racing fundamentals and technique. One, two, and three day programs are available.

Alpine Super group (ages 7-12)

The ASG program starts in early December and runs through the end of March, with participation in races both at Mission Ridge and other areas of the Pacific Northwest as determined by coaches and athlete needs.

Entry Level (Ages 6 to 18)

The Entry Level program is a short season program for youth 6-18 years, who ski parallel on groomed blue runs and have had little or no ski racing experience. The fundamental goal of the program is to develop enthusiastic lifetime participants in the sport of skiing.

J3 Team (Ages 13 to 14)

The J3 program is designed for the up and coming Junior skier who wants to continue their athletic development from age 13 to 14. The program goals are geared toward developing skiing as a lifetime skill, & introducing the athlete to more advanced levels of competition. J3 athletes train from 2 to 4 days a week, are assisted in their pre-season workout program and race in Evergreen Cup (USSA Races), J3 Junior Olympic Qualifiers, and some Northwest Cup Races. J3 coaches help manage each athlete's race starts and travel schedules. MRSEF coaches travel to divisional, regional, and when possible national races to provide support and to ensure top performance.

FIS Team (Ages 15 and Up)

The FIS program is for athletes 15 years and older that want to race at the highest level that is individually possible. The overall goal is to give athletes the technical support and training they need to reach the National Team, or race in college. This team trains 2 to four days a week on snow and is assisted in their pre-season workout program. Our coaches help manage each athlete's race starts and travel schedules. MRSEF coaches travel to divisional, regional, and national races when possible to provide support and to ensure top performance. FIS Team members compete in Evergreen Cup (USSA Races), Northwest Cup, Junior Olympic qualifiers, Entry Level FIS, Canadian FIS, and Western Region FIS races. Some athletes will also compete in Elite FIS races, J2 Nationals, Nor-Ams, and US Nationals.

Post Graduate Program

At MRST we realize that ski racing is not over when you graduate from high school. In fact we believe it is just the beginning. Your late teens and early twenties are a great time to really get better at this sport and it is when all those things you have been working on for so long really come together.

Our PG program is for athletes 18 years and up that aspire to race in college or on the national team but need some more development to reach their goals.

Mission Ridge is an amazing training venue with excellent support from the area. During training sessions we rope off entire Nor-am level race hills.

Post Graduate athletes race in USSA, and FIS races. MRST offers race support at PNSA USSA races, Western Region FIS races, and will also arrange support for certain important out of division projects.

Post graduates train between 4 and 5 days a week. Coaches provide a dry-land training program, and manage every aspect of an athletes season including calendaring, off-season training, and equipment testing and selection.

The MRST Post Graduate Program is comprehensive and was built to help you reach your high level ski racing goals.
