Sustainable SlopesIn an effort to practice good environmental stewardship, Mission Ridge Ski Resorts has taken steps to position itself as an environmentally ethical business, within the local scene and the ski industry. Below are the steps we currently take during the winter season and through our off-season. It's important that our guests help us in protecting the environment too. Near the bottom of this page, please note the short list of what you can do to help keep our slopes sustainable.

Modern Snowguns - quieter and require less air, which conserves energy.
Administration Efforts - conserve energy by shutting down PC's & lights at the end of the day. Recycle paper as well.
Print of Collateral Marketing Materials - marketing pieces such as brochures, trail maps, etc. are printing on recycled stock when possible.

Sustainable Slopes the Environmental Charter for Ski Areas

The National Ski Areas Association, together with its member ski areas and partnering organizations, have created an environmental charter a set of voluntary environmental principles to aid in ski area planning, operations and outreach. The Charter reaffirms the commitment ski areas have in improving environmental performance in all aspects of operations and managing their specific resorts, making possible their continued enjoyment by future generations - true sustainability. Ski areas have provided recreation to millions of guests each year on a very small portion of public land, especially in the Northwest. This very efficient and closely managed utilization of resources limits total impact on mountain ecosystems.

What You Can Do...

  • Pack It In - Pack It Out: Don't use our parking lots and trails as garbage cans
  • Don't use a truck bed as a garbage can... the trash will blow out somewhere down the road
  • Respect Wildlife: Observe and obey trail closures and ski area boundaries
  • Share A Ride: Enjoy the view and carpool
