What a Fun Day!

What a great day to celebrate Christmas On The Mountain! 5" of new overnight, more snow all day long, and the Torchlight Parade to look forward to tonight. It was a blast carving through all the fresh this morning. And the skiing and riding is still really good, bumps and all! There is time yet to make it up to the hill for all the Christmas On The Mountain activities and to put in a few turns.

Conditions Update

9:45 Update Things have cooled off a bit since 5am this morning. Surface conditions from Midway down have firmed up with the cool down instead of the soft and spring-like condtions we had at 5am. We received 4” of new snow in the Upper Basin overnight and 11" in the last 72 hours. In the Base Area we received several inches of snow mixed with a bit of rain overnight. Surface conditions look to be pretty sweet this morning with all the new snow in the Upper Basin. The groom is coming out nice and should be super carvable. As you make your way down past midway, expect soft, more spring-like turns.

Sunday Forecast

Colder temps yesterday allowed snowmaking to start back up again, which we always love to see. Continued snowmaking throughout the night has things looking good for this morning. Surface conditions will start out slightly firmer today than yesterday, but things should hold up nicely a while longer as well. With more sunshine and little to no wind, it looks to be another great day on the slopes. Whether this will be your 11th day of the season, your first time up this year, or you want to try out skiing or riding for the first time, today is going to be a fun day.

Sunshine, Skiing, Saturday

Everyone was really surprised yesterday about how good the surface conditions really were. With no significant recent snowfall, mild temps, and even a little bit of rain earlier in the week, it is understandable for people to expect sub-par conditions. But when you factor in the superior caliber of our Snowmaking Crew and system and the passion, patience, and skill of our Groomers, it’s pretty easy to see why we have the best groomed runs in the state. It also is easy to understand why surface conditions are going to be quite nice, especially in the morning, even though common consensus would suggest they have no right to be.
