Alumni of the WVC Ski Management program, Ski Instruction program and the Ski Team are invited to the 2013 WVC Programmer Reunion starting at 4 p.m. Saturday in Hampton Lodge.

"This is an opportunity for the community and WVC alumni to connect and spend a day doing something they love while supporting their community college," said Stacey Lockhart, executive director of the WVC Foundation.

“Not many people realize it but WVC’s relationship with Mission Ridge goes back over 50 years and some of our alumni and faculty at the time were very involved in helping to get Mission Ridge up and operational as a local ski destination.”  “WVC also had a very strong ski instruction and management program as well as a nationally recognized ski team with members on the Olympic team.”  Today, you will still find WVC alumni teaching and running resorts all over the globe.”

“We are excited celebrate our long standing relationship with Wenatchee Valley College by hosting “Ski for WVC” and the Ski Programmer Reunion for a second year.  It also gives us an opportunity to give back to an organization in the Wenatchee Valley that is doing so much for our community by helping to ensure that we keep affordable, quality education accessible to all who choose to live and play here,” said Jordan Lindstrom, marketing director at Mission Ridge.

Bomber Banked Slalom Results

on Tuesday, 19 February 2013. Posted in Events, Media

bomber-course-runThe first "annual" Bomber Banked Slalom went down this past weekend. And, while "gnarly" was the first thought that came to many minds when arriving at the course, smiles and excitement followed as riders began their descent. The race saw just about every weather event imaginable, along with course blow outs, re-routes and the ever present thin coverage. But the Bomber Banked continued on as only the toughest would survive. Thanks to all who came out and made for such a rad time!

Here's what Ryan Waiste from Frequency, the Snowboarder's Journal, thought: "...I was impressed that it took on an identity of its own and managed to distinguish itself far from becoming "Just another banked slalom." Do I foresee a banked slalom circuit in the future? Who knows? What I do know is that I already look forward to next year's Bomber Banked! You think you have the gusto to do battle in these gut clenchers? We'll see you next season." (See full article.)

Huge thanks to: Joey Mcguire, Brad Miller, Revolution snow and skate, Libtech, Diecutstickers.com, Coal, Defcon gloves and Iron Horse Brewery!

White Friday! Details on Opening Weekend

Hours, Terrain & Ticket Prices for Opening Weekend

Last weekend's snowfall (up to 12" in places) has given Mission Ridge an excellent overall early season snowpack and coverage area, allowing us to open chairs 1, 2 & 3 this Friday. In previous years we've opened with just chairs 1 & 2 because of limited early season coverage.the view at Mission Ridge on Wednesday, Nov. 21

Low overnight temperatures are giving us the ability to make more snow and build up base levels on our main runs. The forecast also calls for more snow early Thursday morning. We're hearing rumors that pockets of wind-blown waist deep powder have been found up high. Check our Friday morning grooming report for a complete list of open areas.

We will be open this coming Friday, Saturday & Sunday, Nov. 23-25, with lifts running from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. each day. Check our limited terrain ticket prices for this coming weekend. And see our operation schedule for the season. We will be open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays only until Dec. 14.

While most or many of the runs those chairs service will be open, we ask that skiers please honor any roped off areas. Some areas still do not have enough coverage for safe skiing & riding.
