Meet Tom Riehle, Mission Mountain Man
Want to know what a real mountain man looks like? Meet Mission’s Tom Riehle. Tom is our director of base operations, which means he skis a lot in the winter and does a little bit of everything in the summer (he’s sandblasting the lodge today).
Tom spends as much time up here as anybody, and he’s been here longer than just about everybody. You could say he’s woven into the fabric of this place.
Tom's 30-second bio:
When started at Mission: Oct. 1, 1990 (as the rental shop manager)
Local connection: Tom moved to Wenatchee after high school. He learned to ski at Mission Ridge. All four of his kids have gone through the Wenatchee school district. His first job in town was working at the Stallings Athletic Company.
Favorite Mission Ridge moment: He's one of those guys that can't be pinned down to one moment. His one line answer: "Powder runs on castle face."
Favorite run: Toketie ("Skier’s left is tough to beat.")
Mission Ridge mountain fact only insiders know? "The rental shop is the center of the universe.”
