A Passion

JP HIkesm

First off, let me introduce myself.  I am Jared Eygabroad, creator of the Emission Web Series that features amazing stories, skiing, and riding that happens at Mission Ridge.  The series began last season when I began making POV (GoPro/helmet cam/Point of View) videos at Mission Ridge.

Somehow, this idea and concept turned into a reality for this season, and I became part of the marketing team as a producer/videographer/editor for Mission Ridge with the responsibility of creating “eye candy” for all who enjoy the mountain.

The Emission Web Series was created to showcase professional level athletes ripping the unique terrain at Mission Ridge.  It also serves as a creative platform to make videos that entertain, inspire, and encourage you to get off the couch and get up to the mountain.  Whether it’s high level skiing and riding, creative ways to look at the mountain, or a video that has no other value than entertainment, the Emission Web Series will cover it all and give it to you in a nicely wrapped online video.  So, Merry Christmas twice a month until the season is over.

Emission 2.1: “Early Season Eye Candy,” is this season’s first of six episodes, or “webisodes” for those of you claiming to possess the highest realm of tech-knowledge.  Yes, I’m hilarious.

Anyway, La Nina is a tough woman to understand, so I can only assume the lack of early season snowfall is just her way of saying, “Just wait a gal-darn minute, I’m saving up snow for an insanely deep February that will make it hard for you to walk from the car to the chairlift.  Your silly Gore-Tex is no match for the pancake flakes I’m going to be throwing at your heads from all angles.  I’m about to unleash face shots that will paint painful snow-burnt cheeks and defined goggle lines that will last through summer.  I hope you’ll enjoy talking to irate customers at your customer service job while looking like a strange raccoon.  Haha.  I’m about to get crazy and I don’t need a reason.”  That’s my assumption anyway.

So, back to Emission 2.1.  It makes me happy that no matter what the conditions are at the mountain, people are still smiling, progressing, and generally getting wild.  I know that I myself will gladly run over a few rocks to get to the goods, even when the “goods” are still slightly speckled with a little pepper.  One guarantee that I have is that it’s possible for ANYONE to enjoy ANY DAY at ANY MOUNTAIN.  This Emission episode is dedicated to those who have that same attitude.  Enjoy the skiing, riding, news, and views in Emission 2.1.

Thanks,

Jared Eygabroad
