Saturday 2/9 Forecast

Good Morning! We have received 12" overnight and over 15" of blower pow for the storm total so far. These quantities will likely go up significantly as the day goes on with the forecast calling for another 7"-11" of new today. It is cold on the hill this morning and the wind chill is expected to be -15 to -23 today. Please keep any exposed skin covered and ski with a partner, keep them in sight. The snow is very light and the wind is blowing. There will be significant drifts all over the mountain today. Have a most excellent pow day! 7:30 am Update: Due to sustained high winds with very cold temperatures at the Summit, and the expectation that these conditions will persist, Chair 2 will start the day on hold. Chair 2 is expected to open as soon as conditions permit. 12:00 pm Parking Update: Spots are opening up in the Base Area lots. We have seen over 16" of new snow in the last 24 hours and are looking forward to more deep turns this afternoon and during Night Skiing tonight!

Off-piste is still variable, but there is some excellent skiing to be found with a little effort. Have fun out there!

With nearly 9 inches of fresh snow on Monday and consistently cold temperatures keeping it light and dry, the corduroy will be fantastic this morning and there should be plenty of pow stashes out on the mountain for you to find as well.

Monday 2/4 Forecast

We have received 3" of cold, light snow overnight and there's more in the forecast during the day today! We're busy getting the chairs warmed up and the mountain ready so you can start this week off the right way. It's chilly this morning, with temperatures in the single digits at the Summit. The weather service is predicting highs in the 20's, but we suggest being prepared for cloudy skies and temperatures in the teens. 10:30 am Update: 4" in the last 24 hours and it's still snowing! As expected, it's cold and light and surface conditions are much improved. Slopes that were groomed overnight have 2-4+ inches of snow, depending on how the wind moved it around. It's going to be a great day of storm skiing, come on up and join in on the fun!

Saturday 2/2 Forecast

The sun should be out again today. We're expecting fast and firm conditions for cruising the groomers and should see some impressive results from the skiers competing in the Hampton Cup Race on Skookum. Tonight, we'll have Night Skiing from 4 PM - 8 PM on Chair 4 and $25 Saturday Night Lessons on the Pika Peak rope tow, a Snow Shoe Trek leaving the Hampton Lodge at 5 PM and our Mountain Music Series featuring Junk Belly in the Hampton Lodge with dinner specials from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM. 10:30 am Update: We've got stellar views, deep blue skies, and fast groomers on the hill today! There's a distinct change in the snow surface about halfway down from the Summit where the precipitation from yesterday transitioned to liquid form. All off-piste terrain is still quite firm, but there is some potential for it to soften up in the sun as the day goes on. TACOCAT will be fired up today and tomorrow, so be sure to take a break and grab a bite on the sundeck below Bomber Bowl between 11:30-1:30 pm.

Friday 2/1 Forecast

It's Chair 4 Friday and we're expecting some snow to celebrate! In classic PNW fashion, it looks like the storm is going to come in a little wet this morning and transition to all snow as the day goes on. This trend should be helpful in bonding to the current snow surface and prepare a base for what looks like a series of storms queued up through Monday. Let's hope this is a preview of what February has in store for us here at the Ridge! 10:30 am Update: Corduroy in the morning and fresh snow in the afternoon? We're getting a little of both today! The storm has arrived and is dropping big flakes from Midway up. It's still a little warm in the base area and the snowflakes can't quite hold it together like they are further up the mountain. The groomed surfaces are grippy and smooth and we're expecting the off-piste terrain to soften up as the day goes on.

Thursday 1/31 Forecast

We're excited to be back at it after 2 days off. It's going to be another pleasant, sunny day on the mountain! Join us for some fantastic corduroy and great visibility before the clouds and snow move in this evening through the weekend. 10:30 am Update: It's quite warm on the slopes this morning. We're already seeing temperatures in the 40s and I think it's safe to say that it should continue to rise until afternoon. The snow surface is nice and soft as can be expected when it's this warm. I would expect to see some nice spring conditions in the sunny areas off-piste within the next hour.

Monday 1/28 Forecast

It looks like it's going to be another sunny clear day! The Spring-like temperatures have moved on and we're back to our climatological normal for this time of year. This will mean the snowpack will firm up a bit, making for zippy groomers and firm variable conditions off-piste.  10:45 am Update: Chair 2 is back up and purring along. We've got another day of beautiful views and clear skies on the Hill today. Due to the warm temperatures over the weekend, the snow surface is quite firm. Keep this in mind as you make your way around the hill as conditions have changed considerably since yesterday.

Sunday 1/27 Forecast

1:15 pm Update: Chair 2 will remain closed for the rest of the day today, Sunday 1/27 due to a mechanical issue. Crews are working hard to re-open the lift as soon as possible. Keep an eye on the Snow Report page for additional operational updates for Monday 1/28. The skiing has been fantastic this weekend and we're expecting more clear skies again today, excellent groomed conditions and soft, spring-like conditions off-piste! Arriving early should guarantee the best skiing as the weather service is calling for changing conditions today, with temperatures expected to fall into the 20's as the day goes on. So be prepared with layers to adjust to cooling temperatures throughout the day. 11 am Update: Temperatures have not yet dropped as the weather service predicted early this morning and it's sunny and a comfortable 42 degrees in the base area right now. The snow has held up surprisingly well in these temperatures and we're having a great time on the hill!
