Saturday 1/26 Forecast

It's springtime in January! Overnight temperatures have been quite warm at the Ridge, but the snow is in great shape and it should be another fun day of sliding around the hill. Tonight, we'll have Night Skiing from 4 PM - 8 PM on Chair 4 and $25 Saturday Night Lessons on the Pika Peak rope tow, a Snow Shoe Trek leaving the Hampton Lodge at 5 PM and our Mountain Music Series featuring Haiku Poetics in the Hampton Lodge with dinner specials from 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM.  10:30 am Update: The snow is fantastic today! Absolutely top notch grooming and the off-piste areas are variable, but staying soft in these warm temperatures. The 26th Annual Apple Cup kicks off today, so lower Skookum and the Summer Road are closed, but the remaining runs are wide open! Escape to the Ridge for some respite from the winter gloom.

Thursday 1/24 Forecast

We've seen the entire gamut of conditions since Monday: a warm front delivered 6" of new snow on Tuesday night on the Upper Mountain, as well as 4" of new snow and a little rain below mid-mountain, followed by plenty of sunshine yesterday and clear, cold conditions last night. The new snow is expected to be variable with a layer of frost on the lower mountain, while we hope the snow on the upper mountain has been preserved by the cold temperatures since the storm came through. The only way to find out is to gear up and go skiing! 10:30 am Update: The corduroy is amazing today, it's smooth, soft and super fun! Off-piste the conditions are variable and difficult in places. On the Upper Mountain, there's a breakable wind crust and on the Lower Mountain, there's an obvious rain or melt/freeze crust. Somewhere in the middle, there are a few inches on top of a supportive base that is just right! It's a beautiful sunny day and the temperatures are nice and mild. There are few excuses to not be on the Mountain on a day like this!

Monday 1/21 Forecast

It's an incredibly clear MLK morning over the Ridge, with stellar views down to the river below. We received 1" of new snow yesterday, bringing our total to 15" since Thursday morning. We are excited for another bluebird day with cool temperatures and light winds to get out and enjoy the sports we love in these fantastic conditions we've had the last 5 days! 9:30 am Update: Crisp and cool on the mountain this morning. The groomed surfaces are fast and firm but easily carvable from the cold overnight temperatures. Off-piste conditions have consolidated and firmed up a bit as well but should soften up with a little solar energy as the day goes on.

Friday 1/18 Forecast

Today should be a little break between storm systems, giving us a chance to enjoy some fantastic groomed conditions and seek out any leftovers from yesterday's storm. Come on up for some soft and smooth turns! 10:30 am Update: The new snow has held up surprisingly well considering the winds that we had this morning. There are a few areas that got scoured, but the snow that blew away is waiting for you to find it in the lees and in the trees.

Thursday 1/17 Forecast

We have received 7" of new snow since midnight and we are expecting continued snowfall during the day today! It's a Powder Thursday, see you all at the mountain! 10:45 am Update: Calm winds overnight allowed the new snow to fall straight down, so it's nice and consistent in the untouched zones. A moderately dense fog/cloud has moved in, primarily on the Upper Mountain. Ski the trees and keep your fingers crossed the storm gets a second wind for a refresh this afternoon!
