1/22/26 Conditions Report

10:00 Conditions Update:

Hats off to our snowmaking and grooming teams, who combined to lay down some excellent corduroy last night, aided by cold temperatures! The first laps this morning were the best on-piste skiing I’ve ridden since this high pressure spell began, and it’s not particularly close. Groomed surfaces are soft and consistent with excellent edge hold to carve up Sunspot, Tumwater, and Mimi. It’s pretty amazing what these crews can do when conditions align.

Currently, the cloud layer is sitting right around Midway, with clear skies above and Mimi shrouded in fog. We also have active snowmaking operations currently running from top to bottom, which will continue wherever possible throughout the day. This is creating variable visibility, with the clearest skies on the upper mountain.

6:30 Conditions Report:

Good morning skiers!

Our snowmakers are cooking up a storm on the mountain today. These colder temperatures are allowing our snowmaking team to produce huge quantities of artificial white which is a huge boon for our snow surfaces. It’s not exactly powder (it’s not exactly not powder either) with the larger flakes produced by snowmaking having a slightly more granular quality but it’s still going to be a joy to ride on. We can expect more sun today. There’s a pretty big temperature difference between the summit and base currently, which is going to affect the consistency of snow being produced, as well as the snow pack underneath it. Anticipate conditions similar to yesterday, firmer on top and softer lower down.

See you on the mountain!
