2/13/2021 Conditions Report

10 AM Update: The fresh snow overnight has made for a great reset on the hill providing for some good turns this morning. The groomed runs were riding smooth and soft and should stay pretty consistent all day. The new snow is very dry, so look for steeper off-piste areas to become more variable as the day goes on, but the more adventurous should be able to find pow stashes all day long. The forecast is calling for another 2 - 4 inches today, so tonight's night ski is shaping up to be a good one. We still have availability on our Night Ski for tonight and tomorrow, so get your ticket before they are gone.

We've received 3" of new snow at the base and it's shaping up to be another chilly day on the mountain. The groomers will be soft, thanks to the dry Mission Ridge powder we received throughout yesterday and overnight. Off-piste [non-groomed] runs should provide some excellent soft pow turns without venturing far from the groomers. With low temps, an extra layer or two and some hand/toe warmers will help you get through the day comfortably.

We are sold out of Full-Day and Late Arrival tickets for Today, Saturday, Feb. 13th and Tomorrow, Sunday, Feb. 14th.

Chairs 1, 3, 4, the Pika Peak rope tow, and 100LAPS Rope Tows are scheduled for operation from 9 am to 4 pm with Chair 1, Chair 4, the Pika Peak, and 100Laps rope tow scheduled for operation during Night Skiing from 4 pm - 9 pm.

Please make sure to dress appropriately for the conditions and remember that we are asking that everyone use their car as their base camp as there is no inside seating at this time and capacity restrictions are in place for all inside spaces.

It is important that everyone recognizes that this season is different from any we’ve experienced. It is up to every individual, both ski area employee and guest, to do their part to help protect the health and safety of our skiing and snowboarding community. Our expectation is that each one of us will follow protocols to help keep each other healthy. We ask all employees and guests to share in this responsibility and help us, “be the reason we have a season.”

Chair 2 Project Update

Final inspections for the Wenatchee Express certification got underway yesterday, 2/12 despite the below zero temperatures. Load testing, a significant component of the inspection, requires riders' weight to be simulated by cardboard boxes filled with a bag of water on each chair. Needless to say working with hundreds of gallons of water per chair in below zero temps is not an enviable task. The load test was completed successfully along with numerous other aspects of the inspection. The final inspection for the Wenatchee Express continues this weekend. There cannot be an opening date until after the certification of the chair. As soon as we know with certainty when the Wenatchee Express will open we will communicate that date. This announcement may come quick and at a moment's notice.
