10:00 Conditions Update:
Riders, it’s been just a little bit too long. What a feeling it is to see all the familiar faces and some new ones too as I make my rounds around the mountain. Although the open terrain is limited, the vibe is boundless and it is a great day to pop on the planks and get out there. The cords have that classic buttery smooth quality and it’s not too chilly. The base is supportive under your skis and holding up nicely. I’m excited to open the season today, and I can tell everyone on the mountain is too.
6:30 Conditions Report:
What’s all this white stuff on the ground? I’m not certain but I think you should come check it out. Thanks to our snowmakers grinding down to the wire, we are able to spin the first chairlift in Washington of the 2025/2026 season for a limited opening! Chairs 1 and 2 will be servicing an a-list roster of runs- Sunspot, Tumwater, and Mimi, while the Pika Peak Rope Tow is live for all our learners joining us today. Lil’ Bombers also hosts six features on the smaller side ready for easing into the sending season.
Conditions may be similar to yesterday. Word on the grapevine is softer on top and firmer toward the base. We encourage you to ease into the season and, as always, ski and ride with care. Early season conditions and areas of thin cover will exist, and remember to respect all rope lines and trail closures – they are there for your safety. It’s looking like a 50% chance of precip all across the mountain. Where it falls might dictate the consistency of what’s coming down. It should fall as snow showers at the summit with scattered mixed precipitation falling at lower elevations.
This early-season, we’re continuing our tradition of honoring local heroes through the Firefighter and Emergency Personnel Appreciation program. From Opening Day through December 14th, we’re inviting Firefighters, EMTs, and Law Enforcement professionals—including 2025 seasonal personnel—to enjoy free skiing and riding as a thank-you for their service. Click here to learn more.
Looking ahead at the rest of opening weekend, snow is forecast to build up over the next few days, especially at the summit. On Friday afternoon and particularly Saturday, winds are forecasted to pick up significantly. If you have the flexibility to get your first turns on Thursday or Friday morning, I’d recommend it to maximize your chance of catching the best Opening Weekend weather conditions.Â
See you on the mountain!Â
