10:00 Conditions Update:Â
Snow surfaces are already softening up out there as the clouds begin to relinquish their hold, with blue skies to the east and a rainbow to the north. Any firm crust on the snow surface has melted off or been skied off on groomed runs, except for a few spots near the very top and very bottom of the mountain. Otherwise, groomers have some good soft snow thats heavy and damp but holds and edge pretty well. Off-piste, we’re seeing much more variable conditions, generally with a thin top layer of soft damp snow but often a very firm surface underneath. It looks like a bit of melting occurred overnight so –especially if you’re headed onto ungroomed terrain – be prepared for changing coverage as compared to when you saw it a couple days ago. Early season conditions definitely exist across the mountain.
6:30 Conditions Report:Â
Up at the summit, we’ve received 1.5 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours, with half an inch falling overnight atop 1 inch that came down during the day yesterday. After a week of high pressure and blue skies, we’re happy to welcome in a bit of new snowfall! As we’ve moved into the early hours of this morning, we’ve seen a continued active weather pattern with temps rising toward right around the freezing mark. A light freezing mist fell for a bit this morning. While precipitation totals have been minimal, this will result in firmer conditions to start the day than we have seen in the last week or so. Precipitation should taper off as the morning continues with a chance for continued flurries at the summit and a slight chance of rain showers in the Base Area.
I would expect off-piste areas to have a thin, breakable crust to start the day while groomed areas will be on the firmer side with heavier snow underneath. As the day continues, any crust on groomed runs should melt or get skied off pretty quickly and we will see denser snow quality underneath that has soaked up a bit of water overnight.
There’s gonna be some good skiing out there today but be prepared for more variable conditions including areas of firm or damp snow. We’re open till 9pm tonight and we look forward to seeing you up here!

Terrain*
Early season conditions exist and limited terrain will be open. Low coverage in places with marked and unmarked obstacles. Please stay on open runs and respect all rope lines/trail closures as they are there for your safety.
Areas without snowmaking are open on natural snow only with limited grooming. This includes all open terrain off of Chair 3. Only advanced skiers and riders who are prepared for low coverage and variable conditions should ride Chair 3. There is no easy way down, and all paths of descent will have areas of low coverage and exposed dirt/rocks, including the ‘main’ named runs like Kiwa & Toketie. As always, we urge you to ski and ride with caution and take it easy as you ease onto new terrain.
Our snowmaking team has been hard at work building up the snowbase on Chair 4 terrain. Snowmaking infrastructure only exists on lower portions of Chak Chak and Sitkum, so despite the great improvements earned by our snowmaking team, this terrain is dependent on natural snowfall as well. Because of their efforts, Chair 4 terrain is shaping up well and while we aren’t certain when we will be able to open up this part of the mountain, things are looking optimistic.
Snowmaking operations will continue whenever possible to expand terrain and improve coverage. This may include:
- Modified terrain availability
- Snowmaking equipment operating on open runs
- Variable surface conditions in areas where snowmaking is underway
*Run status may change at any time.
