1/31/2026 Conditions Report

10:00am Conditions Update:

Surf’s up out there this morning, with soft spring-like snow allowing for long surfy turns from summit to the base area. Temperatures are a balmy 39degrees at the base and mildly cooler at the summit with clouds rolling in and gusts blowing up to 26mph. I am glad to have had my low-light lenses on today with the clouds rolling in and out, and even a skigee could come in handy to wipe off the light rainy precipitation, that is currently falling  from the mid basin to just above Midway. As I made my way down Mimi and even looked back up toward Lower Chack-Chack, I saw plenty of smiling faces in group lessons, and it was evident that today’s soft conditions are perfect for beginner to intimidate shredders to really enjoy getting more confident with the forgiving soft surfaces. The Lil’ Bomber Park has expanded to both the skiers left and right side on lower Mimi, and it sure is cool to observe those lil bombers zooming’ over the rollers, catching air and high-fiving their mates!

Conditioners off-piste, although softer than what they have been, remain variable and exposed patches exist in many marked and unmarked places. As always, it is best to take caution when choosing to venture off-piste, remembering to always pre-ride, re-ride, before you free ride!

With temps continuing to trend upwards today, we will be serving up soft turns all day with the expectation of surfaces to get heavier with the rising temps. Be safe, and have fun out there!

6:30 Conditions Report:

Good morning skiers and riders!
The weather system this week that brought us a top-up to our base levels has passed, ushering back in those warmer temps that seem to be our theme so far this season. The summit barely held on to cooler temps close to freezing level overnight, whilst midway down to the base area saw warm temps in the upper 30s. This mix of unseasonably warm temps will boast variable snow conditions across the mountain. Firmer snow at the summit will become wet and heavy as you make your way down the mountain, with the expectation of variable and exposed riding conditions off-piste, if you choose to venture off please do so with caution, remembering always to pre-ride, re-ride, before you free-ride!
We are expecting to see a steady warming trend through out the day, which will continue to soften the snow conditions further. The sun will try making an entrance poking through broken clouds at times, with a chance also for a wee bit of rain to show in lower elevations before 10am this morning. We may also see moderate gusts with fairly steady SW winds up to 20mph along the summit ridgeline, and a milder SW breeze may be felt in the mid to lower basin of up to 10mph.
It may not be a cabana day on the mountain, but be ready for some spring-like skiing, folks!
Mountain Music returns tonight to jazz up our Night Riding session, with music from Buzz Brump playing in the Lodge from 6:30-8:30pm.
We look forward to seeing you up here today!
