4:00pm Conditions Report:Â
It’s gonna be a great start to the night skiing week here at The Ridge after 6.5 inches of new snow since Monday morning have freshened things up considerably! Tonight you can expect variable conditions, chilly temps, and a chance of snow showers. Active snowmaking operations and natural snowfall from the past few days have combined to add a lot of fresh snow to the slopes, and continued cold temperatures have kept those fresh flakes light and dry. There’ll be quite a bit of soft snow to spray about tonight. That being said, hardpack still does underly the new snow, and it has been exposed in some places by skier traffic throughout the day. Some of the steepest spots on groomed runs have significant hardpack exposed, but otherwise conditions are on the softer side for night skiing. It is still possible to find some areas of packed powder in ungroomed spots, but things are starting to get pretty tracked out. It’s worth doing some exploring, but remember to be prepared, as always, for variable conditions and coverage.
We’re seeing some clouds moving in throughout the afternoon, which could herald the arrival of snow showers this evening. We have a 30% chance of snow tonight with up to an inch of accumulation possible. It will also get pretty cold, especially up at the summit. Be prepared for wind chill values to drop into the single digits during the night skiing window. If you do get cold, don’t forget that it’s trivia night in the Chair 5 Pub! Join in starting at 6:30. Stay warm, and we’ll see you up here!
Remember that Chair 4 remains open to mid-station only during Night Skiing. Even though the chair has now re-opened
