4:00pm Conditions Report:Â
Happy Friday evening! If you’re just heading up to join us, get ready for some fun skiing and riding tonight! Temps have stayed cold all day, helping to preserve dry snow surfaces across the mountain. Runs that were groomed this morning have been tracked out into variable conditions, with loose, dry snow atop underlying hardpack. Fortunately, there’s still quite a bit of that loose snow around thanks to intermittent light snowfall this week combined with active snowmaking. There are plenty of soft turns out there to be had, but be prepared for some high-traffic areas to have some abrupt slick spots. If you venture off the groomed terrain, a mixture of conditions will await you. Areas of residual packed powder will provide some soft or chalky turns, while other spots have firm snow or thin cover – ride with caution as always.
Temps were very cold today, and although they are not forecasted to drop too much more, it will remain pretty chilly this evening. If you decide to take a warming break, Midway Lodge will be open till around 7pm. It’s Bingo Night up there starting at 5:30, and you’re welcome to stop in for a round or two or stay for all five (prizes awarded after each round!).
Remember that Chair 4 remains open to mid-station only during Night Skiing. Even though the chair has now re-opened to the top during daylight, there are not night lights on that terrain, so all riders must unload at mid-station. We will see you on the mountain!
