10/13/26 Conditions Report

Last Saturday night’s weather system delivered what we’d hoped, staying cold across all elevations to deliver our first accumulating snowfall of the season down in the Base Area! We grabbed just over an inch of snow down low with a couple inches up top.

When skies cleared Sunday afternoon, the slopes were shaded white from summit to base. The last couple days have brought continued cool temperatures, allowing higher-elevation patches to linger, especially in sheltered areas. As of today, the Base Area and mid-mountain have melted out, but sheltered aspects on the upper mountain are still looking good with a visible dusting.

Just below the white adornments, our western larches are hitting their peak colors. Gold boughs under snow-dusted slopes is a view that doesn’t last long, but it’s gotta be one of our favorites.

Looking ahead, temperatures are expected to climb a bit to close out the week, bringing us comfortable fall weather for Saturday’s Tamarack Festival finale. Colors will likely be peaking around Midway and just below Lake Clara. Sunny skies are in the forecast, too. We will see you on the mountain for the height of fall, and we certainly have no complaints that winter is making some early inroads as well.
