Ski and snowboard tracks over freshly groomed snow

2/8/26 Conditions Report

10:00 Conditions Update:

It feels nice to be riding in some seasonable temperatures once more, with the mercury reading in the mid-20s above Midway. Groomed conditions vary in accordance with yesterday’s freezing level. Up high, 2.5 inches of snow in the last 24 hours have softened thing up a bit. That snow was pretty dense in most spots, so it’s not exactly buttery corduroy but it’s mostly easy to put an edge into. Lower down, the snowpack was saturated due to yesterday’s rain, which resulted in a freeze up overnight. The grooming team did a great job rehabilitating the surface but was not dealt a kind hand last night. Surfaces are primarily firm and loud, especially on Mimi. Ungroomed areas are generally very firm. There may be a few stashes of snowfall somewhere on the upper mountain, but for the most part dropping temps and wind scouring have made things hard and chattery off the groomed surfaces. Fortunately, a bit of snowfall is in the forecast later today to potentially inject some freshness into the snow surfaces!

6:30 Conditions Report

Good morning skiers!

I hope we’ve all had a chance to dry out from yesterday’s conditions. We’re hopefully moving back into more seasonal temperatures today after getting some rain on the lower half of the mountain yesterday. Yesterday’s precip did fall as snow on the summit, but it fell wet and heavy and that snow should be drying out and firming up as temperatures at the top are well below freezing. Temps at Midway and the Base finally dropped below freezing this morning and I anticipate firm snow there as well. Our grooming team knows just what to do to whip the piste into shape after the dynamic conditions of yesterday. That dynamism will carry over into today as we start the day clear with a breeze and some snowfall forecast to kick up in the afternoon.

See you on the mountain!
