10:00 Conditions Update:Â
We’re starting the day off crisp and clear up here at The Ridge. Temps are in the 20s on the upper mountain and have just crested above freezing at Midway within the last hour. Groomed surfaces are composed of firm velvet and have just started to soften on Mimi while the upper mountain remains cold for now. Sunspot and Tumwater are in excellent condition to smear some smooth and responsive turns, or if you want to carve deep, you can just about get the job done with some well-tuned edges. We should see more softening in the coming hours. Skies are once again blue and the views extend for miles in all directions. It’s a classic spring morning here on the mountain with tons of personal space for some scenic cruising. We’ll see you on the mountain!
6:30 Conditions Report:
Good morning skiers and riders! We’re gearing up for our final Midweek day of the season, and we’re ready to make it count with a classic spring forecast on the cards. Nature is bringing us another day of mostly sunny skies, and after a cooler day yesterday, we are bouncing back into balmy temps today, with a projected high in the 30s at the summit and pushing into the upper 40s in the Base Area.
Especially with nearly-full sun, this means we can expect a classic spring conditions cycle to develop by late morning. We’ll start off the day riding some smooth, firm corduroy laid down by our grooming team, so if you’re looking for quick and responsive turns, get up here early. As the sun rises, we’ll see softening toward dense spring corn, giving us some playful and forgiving conditions to slash up some slush. These conditions will develop in sunny areas on the lower mountain first but should spread to most open terrain by afternoon.
Keep in mind that it’s spring: areas of thin cover exist across the mountain, and conditions can change actively, especially on a warmer day. Any ungroomed spots will start – and likely end – the day with extremely firm conditions. Please continue to ski and ride with caution.
Today’s scheduled runs include Sunspot, Tumwater, Mimi, Lower Sitkum, & Lower Chak Chak, along with 100Laps and Lil Bombers parks.
Keep in mind that today is our final Midweek day of operations this season. Starting on Monday, 3/30, we are moving to our spring operating schedule and will be open on Saturdays and Sundays only. We will be closed Monday-Friday next week (3/30-4/3) and will reopen on Saturday (4/4) for the weekend. Today’s the day to get a final fix of Midweek fun.
