10:00 Conditions Update

Blue bird and fresh! To say the stoke factor is high today is the understatement of the century! The snow was dry and soft first thing this morning.

Off piste is variable in terms of its surface, depth, and solidity. The groomers are stellar and super soft. One thing to be aware of today, there are bright and dark spots, so please be careful when wearing the dark lenses and dropping into the shade.

6:30 Conditions Update

It snowed steadily last night until about 9 PM, adding roughly 4 inches of new snow to the mountain after closing time. Temperatures dropped overnight which will keep our snow nice and dry.

Today should be sunny but very cold and windy. High temperatures are expected to reach around 17 degrees, with wind chill values as low as negative 11 in exposed areas at the summit. Northwest winds are expected to remain strong throughout the day, with sustained speeds near 40 mph and gusts that could reach up to 55 mph possible at times at the summit. Gusty winds have and will continue to move snow around the mountain, blowing it from one side of the run to the other and creating areas of deeper drift alongside more scoured sections.

There should be plenty of fresh snow to enjoy. The extremely light, dry snow that fell over the last couple of days makes for fantastic riding conditions.

Just keep in mind that the last 48 hours of snowfall have landed on what was a thin existing snowpack.

Coverage can still be variable in places, that wind really moved the snow around. Runs could have deep drifts or lack fresh snow, depending on the earlier wind behavior. Please ride with awareness and enjoy the new snow!

Additionally, avalanche danger is rated as High today. As always, it is extremely important to stay on open runs and respect all rope lines/trail closures as they are there for your safety.

*Due to an issue with the summit weather instrumentation, our summit wind speed is not reporting accurately at this time. We are working with our partners at NWAC to resolve this issue.

Parking

Everyone is excited to get up to the mountain and enjoy all the new snow. We can’t wait to see you, but please be aware that we expect parking lots to fill up early. Once parking is full, we will work to shuttle folks up from lots further down the mountain. Spots usually start to open up again after the noon hour on Saturdays.
