Friday 12/21 Forecast

The forecast is calling for a beautiful bluebird day on the Mountain today. We have received over 40" of snow this month and the mountain is in great shape. Due to high winds overnight and warm temperatures during the day yesterday, expect variable conditions off-piste, with the potential for soft windblown conditions on the upper mountain. The weekend forecast is looking really good, with daytime temperatures in the 20's and some more snow in the forecast as well.  10:30 am Update: Great skiing on the hill today! The consolidated snow on the upper mountain is fast and edge-able, with just enough windblown "fresh" on top to make it really smooth and fun. The sun is hiding behind an island of clouds, but it's still early and there's a chance the clouds will give way to mostly sunny skies.

Monday 12-17 Forecast

Yesterday's storm and it's 5" of new snow helped fill in terrain across the mountain. While it was at times a bit warmer than we would like in the Base Area and up past Midway yesterday (we did see some rain in the lower elevations) a solid snow base is forming and we will look to open additional terrain again today as conditions permit. Look for firmer conditions in the Base Area and Midway with this mornings cool down, and softer conditions near the top of the mountain. There is an additional chance of snow today, tonight, and throughout the rest of the week! Things have shaped up very nicely for our stretch of 7 days a week operations through January first.

8:15am Update: 5" of new snow this morning with up to 8" forecast for the remainder of the day. The snow has lightened up as of 8:15am and temps are hovering around the low thirties across the mountain. Runs of Chairs 3 and 4 were groomed during the PM shift last night so there will be a nice bit of fresh snow on top of sweet groomers off of those chairs. Cloud levels are rising as well with good visibility in the Base Area and moderate to low visibility as you get higher on the mountain.

Saturday 12-15 Forecast

We have picked up 1" of new snow so far this morning. Look for this mornings bit of new snow to blend well into the groomed runs and make for some fun corduroy cruising. Additional terrain was opened for the first time yesterday and look for the possibility of more terrain opening today as conditions permit. It is extremely important to stay out of closed terrain and to respect all rope lines as they are there for your safety. It is also Firefighter and Emergency Personnel Appreciation on the Mountain today with activities and events going and a special fundraiser for the Wildland Firefighters Fund. We want to thank all of the folks out there who put their lives on the line to protect our communities.
