A skier descends the Sitkum trail at Mission Ridge on a spring-like day.

3/18/26 Conditions Report

11:00 Conditions Update:

We are enjoying spring turns off of Chairs 1 and 4 today beneath mostly cloudy skies, with intermittent sunlight filtering in from the blue skies over the valley. Temps are mild and we are experiencing a sustained, balmy breeze that is keeping snow surfaces corny and heavy in most spots. It’s a good day for a wax if you’re looking to make some quicker turns – otherwise, the snow is definitely dense and on the slower side.

On runs that were not groomed overnight, conditions are variable but generally soft and wet as well. Areas that received significant skier compaction are the easiest ride at the moment due to a supportive surface underneath. Less-trafficked areas offer a challenging ride where you may sink several inches into the dense, settled snow without a structured surface beneath. I’d recommend sticking on the groomed runs for the ripest corn harvest! We’ll see you on the mountain!

10:00 Operations Update:

After assessment by our Patrol team, we’ve made the decision to close the Upper Basin for the remainder of the day due to increasing avalanche risk caused by the sustained warm temperatures we’ve seen over the past 48 hours. Chair 2 and Chair 3 will remain closed today. We will continue to monitor these conditions throughout the coming days.

Chair 1, Chair 4, and all surface lifts are scheduled for operation until 4pm today.

7:40am Operations Update:

Chair 2 will start the day on hold due to high winds. We will continue to update regarding the status of Chair 2. Chairs scheduled for operation to start the day include 1, 4, and all surface lifts.

6:30am Conditions Report:

The morning is starting mild and breezy here at The Ridge, with overnight temps in the 30s on the upper mountain and 40s on the lower mountain keeping conditions largely spring-like. Around the Base Area, snow conditions are soft and wet in less-compacted areas, while areas that have seen lots of traffic are moderate firmness with a wet, damp quality. Up top, temps are a bit cooler, so snow may start the day firmer, but we can expect softening throughout the day. Winds are currently blustery and the forecast calls for continued gusts into the 30s at the summit with sustained speeds in the 20s.

We’ve received an intermittent light mist over the last couple hours that is likely to continue till around 8am and then taper off toward partly sunny skies. A snowpack that’s already damp combined with possible sun exposure will result in true spring conditions as the day progresses. Due to the warm overnight temperatures, grooming operations may be limited. Grab a belt wax and come make some slushy turns!

Chairs 1, 2, 4, and all surface lifts are scheduled for operations today from 9am-4pm.

Coverage remains improved following the recent storm cycle, but remember that earlier season conditions included a thinner base. Please continue to ride with awareness, stay on open runs, and respect all rope lines and closures.

We’ll see you on the mountain!

*Due to an issue with the summit weather instrumentation, our summit wind speed is not reporting accurately at this time. We are working with our partners at NWAC to resolve this issue.
