4:00pm Conditions Report:Â
A sweet day at The Ridge is far from wrapping us this evening, with lots of skiing, riding, and activities left to enjoy! Conditions on the mountain are variable on-piste after skier traffic over the course of the day has scraped snow off the most trafficked areas and deposited downslopes or along the edges. On the steepest upper-mountain pitches, we can expect firm conditions, while the flatter areas have piled up some extra soft snow. Lower down, we saw warmer temps throughout the day that is keeping snow quality a bit heavier, preventing it from getting scraped off. Down there, we have a more consistent, edgeable surface with some bumps and variability due to skier traffic. As the night progresses, we’ll see temps drop a bit which could bring on a firming trend on the lower mountain. With mostly cloudy skies but a few gaps to the west, sunset could be hit or miss tonight, but if it hits it could be something special. We’ll see.
Regardless, we’ve got two key events ongoing on the mountain: Mountain Music and Tele Fest. The Runout Boys will be playing live in the lodge from 6:30-8:30. The telemarkers among us are busy getting after it in clinics and group rides right now, but they’ll be headed to Midway at 6:00 for a screening of the Tele-Colo movie. Anyone is welcome, whether you’re a seasoned tele skier or are simply tele-curious. Whether you tele, alpine ski, or snowboard, we’ll see you at The Ridge tonight!
