1/13/26 Conditions Report

10am Update

As the morning grows older, clouds are breaking up, and sun and blue skies are starting to peak out. Conditions are firm and variable at the top of the mountain on Sunspot and the upper portions of Tumwater. As you get down Tumwater towards Midway, things start to soften a bit and become more consistent. Surface conditions are soft on Mimi with spots of very saturated snow. Conditions on Chair 4 terrain are softer with lower snow coverage and variable. Conditions off the primary groomed runs of Sunspot, Tumwater, and Mimi vary wildly, with low snow, marked and unmarked obstacles, and difficult conditions that are best suited for advanced skiers and riders who are prepared for low snow coverage.

Make sure to check out the Grooming Report for updates on open and groomed runs. There was limited grooming last night due to the high temperatures and wet conditions. We have also lost some terrain since the weekend across the mountain.

6:30 am Report

Good morning skiers and riders!

After another mild night, we’re looking at soft, springlike conditions again today. Expect mostly cloudy skies with a high near 41, and a southwest breeze this morning that should ease up this afternoon. As temperatures climb, the snow will continue to soften and feel wetter, especially on lower elevations and in high-traffic areas. Higher elevations should hold onto firmer snow a bit longer, but plan for variable conditions throughout the day.

To help protect what’s left of the snowpack on Chair 3 terrain during this warm, moist stretch, Chair 3 will remain closed today. Unlike other parts of the mountain, there is no snowmaking on Chair 3 terrain, which makes it more vulnerable when temps spike and precipitation comes in warm. Keeping it closed for the time being gives us the best chance of preserving coverage until conditions cool back down.

Due to the warm temperatures, limited grooming was able to be done last night and there are no groomed runs on Chair 4. There will also not be access to Midway from Chair 4 today.

Chairs 1, 2, 4 as well as the Pika Peak Rope Tow and the Ottobahn Carpet are scheduled for operation from 9am to 4pm.

Please ride with caution in these warm-weather conditions. Watch for thin spots, exposed features, and changing surface conditions as the day progresses.

See you on the mountain!

Terrain*

Due to the warm temperatures, limited grooming was able to be done last night and there are no groomed runs on Chair 4. There will also not be access to Midway from Chair 4 today.

Early season conditions exist and limited terrain will be open. Low coverage in places with marked and unmarked obstacles. Please stay on open runs and respect all rope lines/trail closures as they are there for your safety.

All terrain accessed from Chair 3 and Chair 4 remains in early-season and variable condition, including the primary groomed runs. There is no easy way down, and only strong intermediate and advanced skiers who are prepared for variable conditions and significant areas of low coverage should ride these chairlifts.

Snowmaking operations will continue whenever possible to expand terrain and improve coverage. This may include:

  • Modified terrain availability
  • Snowmaking equipment operating on open runs
  • Variable surface conditions in areas where snowmaking is underway

*Run status may change at any time.
