4:00pm Conditions Report:Â
A clear, sunny day on the mountain is headed toward evening, and we’re ready to see the faces of everyone who had work or school today but still wants a chance to come up and ride! With undercast skies below and blue skies above, I’m expecting an incredible sunset tonight – hit the summit before 4:30 so you don’t miss out. Snow conditions are also likely to be best earlier in the night. We’ve had a warm day, which has resulted in variable conditions, with areas getting soft with spring-like snow while some areas stay firmer. As the night progresses, we can expect conditions to firm back up as the sun disappears and the evening chill sets in. It could get pretty chattery by the end of the night.
If you didn’t have a chance to visit us during the day today, please note that we have lost some terrain and snow coverage since you were last up here. Be prepared for variable and changing conditions and coverage, including areas of thin cover in places that had good coverage a few days ago. We have had very warm temperatures to start the week that have reduced and dampened the snowpack. To help protect what’s left of the snowpack onChair 4 terrain during this warm spell, it will remain closed during night skiing tonight. Keeping this area closed for the time being gives us the best chance of preserving coverage until conditions cool back down. Chairs 1 & 2 as well as the Pika Peak Rope Tow and the Ottobahn Carpet are scheduled for operation tonight. Scheduled night runs include Sunspot, Tumwater, Mimi, Pika Peak, Lil Bombers Park, & Tower 10.
We’ll see you on the mountain!
