4:00pm Conditions Report:Â
We are ushering in the first few hours of the long weekend with NIGHT SKIING! Chair 1, Chair 2, the Pika Peak Rope Tow, and the Ottobahn Carpet will be open well into the evening, with all lifts closing at 9pm except for Chair 2, which closes at 8:3o. This is gonna bring us over 5 more hours of skiing and riding, including an incredible sunset vista just after 4:30. We can expect weather to stay much the same as we head into the evening, with mostly clear skies, a moderate breeze, and expansive vistas. Temperatures will fall a bit from the mid-30s into the mid-2os by the end of the night.
Snow conditions will be variable after a day of skier and rider traffic. On-piste areas will have some areas that are scraped down to hardpack while other areas, particularly the edges of runs, will have built of some fun soft snow to play around it. Pick your spots and you’ll find good fun on Sunspot, Tumwater, and Mimi! If you venture toward the edges of the runs, be aware that ungroomed terrain is very firm and variable at present with significant areas of low coverage. As the night progresses, conditions are likely to remain similar, with the potential for surfaces to get firmer if they freeze up. We will see you on the mountain tonight until 9pm!
