4:00pm Conditions Report:Â
Who’s ready for night riding!? The sun is sinking toward Mount Rainier on the western horizon, and we’re already lining up to watch the sunset before getting after it on the slopes. We’re still hanging out above the valley clouds so it’s gonna be a good one. Conditions right now are variable after a day of skier traffic. On the upper mountain, we’ve got a hardpacked base with areas of loose soft snow atop it. Most loose snow has been pushed toward the edges of runs or piled up by skiers and riders making turns. Look for those areas for the most forgiving riding experience today – the hardback is pretty bulletproof at the moment. Lower down, temps and sunlight warmed things up enough to soften things up toward springlike conditions this afternoon, and that soft, heavy snow will persist until it likely freezes back up later tonight.
Inside, we’ll also have plenty going on tonight with Mountain Music at 6:30 in the Hampton Lodge! Those Guys (the band) will be playing your favorite classic covers till 8:30 while we enjoy dinner, drinks, & dancing! All our food services will be open, including Midway, but if you’re not sure what to grab, head down to the Chair 5 Pub to try this weekend’s Dinner Special: The Sunken Burrito. Drenched in house-made enchilada sauce and filled to the brim with beans, rice, cheese, cilantro, onions, and your choice of beef, chicken, or black bean crumble, this heaping dish is sure to satisfy after a day on the slopes. We’ll see you up here!
