a woman in pink skis toward a sunny forested valley socked in an inversion

1/19/26 Conditions Report

10:00 Conditions Update:

Boy, am I happy to be above the clouds! It is a gorgeous sunny day today at the Ridge. The bathtub effect is in full force: when clouds fill the valley it looks like a bubble bath and the clouds catch the light just right. Needless to say, we’re boasting some great views on all sides. We are thankful for the cooler temps for protecting our snowpack at lower elevations. I’m hearing whispers that Sitkum as the best turns on the mountain today. Right now we’re still firm, but as the day progresses and snow gets more sun, I think we could get some springlike beachiness in exposed areas especially with the balmy temperatures at higher elevations. Anticipate variable conditions and ride with care. It’s a great day to stack some vert and soak in that vitamin ski!

6:30 Conditions Report:

Good morning Skiers!

It’s looking like another great day to get above the clouds for some alpine adventure. With the valley still socked in that inversion, we’re hogging all the hibernal sunlight up here. Mountain conditions are clear and calm, forecast to stay that way throughout the day, with lower temperatures at the Base Area and higher temps at the summit which stayed above freezing overnight. Expect firm snow across the mountain, with sunnier and lower pitches to be a bit more edgeable. Off-piste is very firm and chattery. If you’re going to brave that, make sure to ride with caution and anticipate variable conditions. Legend has it that our limited Chair 4 Terrain is skiing the best- it gets a little more sun, you see. We have been making snow overnight down Sunspot and Tumwater and beyond, so we will see how that shaped up the runs. It’s a good sign in my opinion.

See you on the mountain!
