4:00pm Conditions Report:Â
Today, we maintained snowmaking temps all day long from top to bottom for the first time in a while! This is gonna put us in a good spot come Night Skiing, helping to keep more softness in the snow surfaces. Expect variable conditions out there, with snow consistency depending on traffic, proximity to snowmaking, and elevation. A few of the steeper pitches on Sunspot and Tumwater have been scraped down to hardpack over the course of the day, while the soft snow has been piled up or pushed to the sides of runs. With snow guns running consistently over the last few days, there will be quite a bit of that loose snow floating about on the surface tonight. The impact of the snow guns will be localized to the vicinity of guns. Here’ we’ll have additional new snow of the grainier, finely settled variety typical to ungroomed man-made snow. All in all, it should be a good night skiing evening with more soft snow than we were seeing last week.
Temps are gonna dip down a bit tonight into the teens, so dress warm out there and head in for warm food and drinks if needed. We’re currently experiencing the coldest temps in the Base Area, where we are shrouded in fog, while we are right around 32 degrees and in the clear up top. We will see you on the mountain!
