1/25/26 Conditions Report

10:00 Conditions Update:

Smooth groomers, blue skies, and a little bit of soft man-made snow in the Fun Park are the highlights of this morning. The cords are fresh and consistent – thank you groomers! We can expect groomed runs to remain soft for a few hours and follow a firming trend as they get scraped off throughout the day. Chair 4 groomers receive less traffic than the Chair 2 terrain and will retain their soft snow for a while longer. There are a few areas with the grainy, dense, but soft snow characteristic of the snow guns, especially in the Fun Park. It’s another day of blue skies with temps that are currently chilly but could warm up a bit, especially on the upper mountain. We’re back above the valley inversion, but up here in the high country, the views extend for miles and 4 of our 5 main peaks were visible (Hood was hiding seemingly). We’re looking forward to a great day of riding before we settle in to watch the Seahawks up at the Chair 5 Pub.

6:30 Conditions Report:

Good morning skiers!

Last night’s snow dances might take a second to kick in, but we saw the right conditions overnight to cook up an artificial blizzard. Our snowmakers are keeping us fresh and softening up the piste with their off-white. We’re still sitting in that pesky high pressure system, but I’m thankful temps are staying down.

Calm, clear, and comfortable is the name of the game. Expect wide open skies to expand into sweeping vistas from the summit (and probably over the valley- fingers crossed!). I’ll get a headcount of peaks visible from the summit just to make sure all five are staying put. Anticipate smooth corduroy as Mission Ridge’s finest are out laying it down right now on our trails. We’ve got an inverted temperature gradient on the mountain, but we’re set to stay below freezing at all elevations, so I don’t think it’ll mess with us too much but I find that sun exposed areas tend to get a bit more playful regardless of temps. I hear that off-piste terrain is sort of recycling itself into something more skiable, but expect firm, variable, and thin snow with the potential for hidden obstacles. Remember your pre-ride, re-ride, free-ride progression and ski with caution.

To sweeten the deal, DJ Cool Cat is joining us from 12-2pm to get the snow dances going again. Look for him near the base of Chair 1! Additionally, we will be playing the entire Seahawks game in the Hampton Lodge at the Chair 5 Pub. Game starts at 3:30pm. Kitchen closes at 5pm.

See you on the mountain!
