10:00 Conditions Update:
It is really nice out there! Sunspot and the top of Tumwater are sweet and soft. There’s some curdled chunks right at the top of Tumwater but you’ll drop right past them in no time. Mid-mountain retains a nice edgeability as well, feeling a bit more supportive than the top. We could experience some traffic scrape but with our personal mountain feel today, I think we’ll be able to keep our surfaces soft and playful. The whole mountain is skiing well as the sun comes up over the slopes. A few more clouds are hung in the sky today, which bodes well for our weekly forecast. I think we’ll enjoy our sun while we have it.
6:30 Conditions Report:
Good morning skiers!
We are forecast to see some increasing clouds over the next few days as a little teaser of the snowfall that is forecast at the end of this week. Some atmospheric mixing may occur, normalizing temperatures across the mountain.
We’re staying pretty cold overnight, which is helping preserve our snowpack. Any heavy manufactured snow should be drying out and melding into the pack with these temperatures. Expect conditions similar to yesterday, softer velvety corduroy under big blue skies. Notably, the summit and base are holding onto lower temperatures but Midway has been above freezing for a few hours. This could indicate the potential for some firmer snow mid-mountain. Fun Park and Sitkum have been fan favorites recently, so I’d look to those runs for the best snow. These pitches get a little more sun which could help keep them soft. Yesterday had great mountain peak views from the summit but the valley was a big bubble bath of low clouds and I have an inkling we’ll see more of the same today.
See you on the mountain!
