1/29/26 Night Conditions Report

4:00pm Conditions Report:

We are still celebrating the return of natural snowfall to the mountain as we head into Night Skiing this evening after picking up 2 inches of snowfall in the last 24 hours! This has livened up conditions greatly after our recent spell of high pressure, and the stoke is high heading into the evening. Conditions will vary this evening, with a good bit of soft snow remaining on the mountain but affected by fluctuating temperatures and a day of skier traffic. Up high, temps have stayed colder, keeping snow mid-density, but it’s been skied out and pushed off to the sides. Hardpack is exposed in a few spots. Lower down, temps rose above freezing this afternoon, making the new snow dense, creamy, and packable. We’ve got grippy but slightly bumpy snow surfaces on the lower mountain as the new snow has gotten compacted, saturated, and skied out. As the night progresses, conditions could firm up as temps drop.

We are very excited for the first night of Thursday Night Drags racing tonight, kicking off at 6:30!

Please note that Chair 4 is open to mid-station only during Night Skiing. All riders must unload at mid-station. Although Chair 4 is now open to the top from 9am-4pm, Castle does not have lights, so the upper terrain closes at 4pm.
