10:00 Conditions Update:Â
I was very pleasantly surprised by conditions this morning! The couple inches of new snow, combined with the efforts of our grooming team, have really refurbished the snow surfaces overnight. Groomers are doing well – surfaces are pretty soft with a dusting of new snow on top. New snow quality is mid-density up top and pretty dense and creamy down low. Both situations make for some fun riding that supports an edge well.
If you’re heading off the groomers, higher elevation is better in general. Up there, we got more new snow to soften things up. The snowpack underneath is mostly wet, saturated snowpack with some firm areas as well. It’s variable as expected with some areas of low coverage and a few spots that have been loaded up by the wind overnight. Overall, things are looking good today! Snow is probably tapering off and we should see temps gradually dropping.
8:15 Conditions Update:
It’s really coming down out there! We have temperatures close to freezing at the Base Area and a dense but dry snow is currently falling. This snow is falling victim to a breeze but it’s not going too far. We’ve received enough of it yet that the cords are staring to look a little blurry. The snow conditions underfoot at the base are enticing, with a sturdy softness from the slightly warmer overnight temps at lower elevations. I think below Midway we could see that softness linger throughout the day, with the upper mountain piste relaxing as it gets more snow.
6:30 Conditions Report:
Good morning skiers!
Today’s conditions are multifaceted. While we did receive some low density snow overnight, it blew around a bit which means a few things. It could indicate that there is some hidden stashes out there. It could also indicate the slopes did not get refreshed after getting some mixed precip, or we’re dealing with a dust on crust situation, which is something I enjoy. Today’s forecast promises a little snow at higher elevations and a little mixed precip at lower elevations. I would anticipate breezy conditions at the summit. With the mixed precipitation over the last couple days, expect firmer than average conditions on groomed terrain and very firm and variable conditions off piste. As always, ride with caution. We already saw some of that firming start at Night Skiing last night and it will have continued into this morning at higher elevations.
See you on the mountain!

Lift Status*
Chairs 1, 2, 3, the Pika Peak Rope Tow and the Ottobahn Carpet are scheduled for operation today.
*Chair configuration may change at any time.
Terrain*
Early season conditions exist and limited terrain will be open. Low coverage in places with marked and unmarked obstacles. Please stay on open runs and respect all rope lines/trail closures as they are there for your safety.
Only advanced skiers and riders who are prepared for low coverage and variable conditions should ride Chair 3. There is no easy way down, and all paths of descent will have areas of low coverage and exposed dirt/rocks, including the ‘main’ named runs like Kiwa & Toketie. As always, we urge you to ski and ride with caution and take it easy as you ease onto new terrain.
Snowmaking operations will continue whenever possible to expand terrain and improve coverage. This may include:
- Modified terrain availability
- Snowmaking equipment operating on open runs
- Variable surface conditions in areas where snowmaking is underway
*Run status may change at any time.
