Multiple snowmaking guns firing on Mimi Trail at Mission Ridge

11/24/25 Conditions Report

I arrived on the mountain this morning to find Mimi obscured by a billowing cloud of white that churned amidst the crisp mountain air: telltale evidence that the snowmakers were hard at work last night!

After a warm weekend, the team geared up on Sunday evening in eager anticipation of a frosty forecast to start the week. The crew fired up the Sunspot guns in the evening hours. Around midnight, temperatures began dropping quickly all across the mountain, and the crew rushed downhill to finally put Mimi in play. Looking to make up for lost time as Mother Nature grants us sustained sub-freezing temperatures in the Base Area for the first time this month, the snowmaking team is pummeling Mimi with 12 guns while the remainder of their capacity continues to fill in gaps on Tumwater. We have a couple days of cold temperatures in the forecast, and the MRSM crew is gonna milk it for every last flake as they race against the clock to get the mountain open.

So, will we be open this weekend? Well, realistically, it’s super hard to say at this point, but we aren’t giving up hope just yet. The forecast at the summit is looking good – with subfreezing temps all week and the potential for several inches of natural snow (primarily on Tuesday and Wednesday). However, we can’t open just the upper half of the mountain, and we’re gonna need a hand from Mother Nature to haul Mimi across the finish line. Currently, the forecast calls for daily highs once again exceeding 32º starting on Wednesday. When cold temps don’t arrive till this late in November, these likely pauses in daytime production are gonna add further constraints to an already-aggressive timeline. That being said, a shift downward of a couple degrees or a strong outperformance of forecasted lower-mountain natural snowfall could give us a chance to move the needle.

We will keep you posted on a daily basis this week as the crew continues to pump out snow as fast as conditions allow.

Early Season Lift Tickets:

With conditions still uncertain, we have removed lift tickets for 11/28, 11/29, & 11/30 from our online store. If we are able to announce an opening day this weekend, they will be reinstated at that time. Anyone who has already purchased a lift ticket will receive a refund if the mountain is not open for skiing and riding.

Restaurant Hours:

Even if we are not open for skiing and riding, the Chair 5 Pub will welcome visitors to the mountain this weekend! On Friday, we’ll have extended hours of 11am-9pm: perfect for if you awake the day after Thanksgiving and find yourself weary of cooking. Saturday hours will be 11-9, and Sunday will be 9-2.

All Season Passholders will receive a 25% discount at the Pub this weekend. Make sure to bring your RFID card to show your server!
