Skier in grey jacket and black pants making turn on groomed run at Mission Ridge

12/17 Conditions Report

10am Update: We have a beautiful day on our hands! We are skiing above the inversion clouds in the valley and experiencing comfy temps across the mountain. It was exciting to go make a lap on Chair 3 for the first time this season! Early-season conditions exist with low snow coverage, especially at the top of Kiwa, but it is fun to see something new today. Groomed conditions on Chairs 2 and 4 are riding very nicely as well. We expect things to become a bit more variable over the course of the day. If you know someone who’s interested in learning to snowboard our ski, today would be a great day to bring them up for one of our Welcome to Winter Lessons! Welcome to Winter is our way of saying – “come be a part of our mountain community”. Let us show you how to make skiing and snowboarding fun and rewarding. This $56 lesson is a one time purchase for beginners and includes one 2 hour lesson, rentals, access to Pika Peak Rope Tow and Chair 1 for the whole day.

Early Morning Report: Our Mountain Operations teams have worked hard this week to open more chairs and terrain. Chair 4 opened for the first time this season yesterday (12/16), and we’re excited to announce that Chair 3 will open for the first time today. Early season conditions exist out there, and coverage is thin in places, especially on Chair 3 terrain where we don’t have snowmaking infrastructure. Make sure to take it easy your first couple of laps to feel out the conditions, but get out there and enjoy some new turns tomorrow!

Temperatures across the mountain trended towards the warmer side last night, especially in the Base Area. Look for the best groomed turns to be found on upper mountain terrain, with firmer and more variable conditions as you get down to Midway and on Mimi coming into the Base Area.

All chairs and surface lifts will are scheduled for operation for the first time this season! The runs Sunspot, Tumwater, Bomber Access Road, Boundary Road, Kiwa, Java, Toketie, Castle, Sitkum, Lower Chak Chak, Mimi, and Pika Peak will be open conditions permitting. Additional terrain will open as conditions permit.

*Please stay on open runs and respect all rope lines/trail closures, as they are there for your safety.*
