12pm Conditions Update:Â The first flakes of the new storm are hitting the slopes! Anticipation is building and surfaces will continue to soften throughout the day as we enjoy refreshes throughout the afternoon.
11am Conditions Update: Santa did a great job keeping the reindeer away from the piste last night, so that beautiful corduroy is still lying smooth and pristine from top to bottom, ready for you to enjoy on this brisk Christmas morning! Conditions on- and off-piste are pretty soft higher up, with more variable conditions below Midway. As Christmas Day wears on, we’re gonna see some flakes in the air in anticipation for a hefty storm arriving tonight, and we’re likely to eke out the first few inches of fresh snow before closing today! Merry Christmas!
The Mission Ridge Christmas Story
‘Twas 6 in the morning, when all through Mission Ridge’s Lodge like house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even a Pika (which is essentially a really fat mouse).
The beer mugs were placed, on the bar shelves with care,
In hopes that fresh ale soon would be there.
The Groomers were nestled all snug in their snow cats,
For their hard work, they deserve the tip of all your hats.
The best Snowmakers around were busy building that base,
And the Yeti at the summit was trying to make calls to outer space.
Suddenly over the radio arose such a clatter,
That this snow reporter set down his coffee, to see what twas the matter.
And what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a beautiful new day on the rise and fresh snow falling soon from the atmosphere!
The forecast is calling for three to five inches,
Enough to grow the heart of the staunchest snow grinches.
The groomed runs will be buffed out for you in advance,
But that fresh corduroy might get covered because Cowboy Doug, the groomer, saw Prop Man doing a midnight snow dance.
While there is yet no new snow on the ground,
The Lift Mechanics And Ops will have all chairs a runnin’ for you to make many a round.
We hope that your stockings were stuffed, your presents stacked like a fountain,
And look forward to soon seeing you on the mountain.
Happy Holidays to you and yours from everyone here at Mission Ridge!
