10:00 Conditions Update:
It is definitely warmer than yesterday’s wind chill, but I still wanted to bundle up! It might be due to the sun feeling a little shy this morning, but it’s looking like the clouds hang a little higher at the summit, so I reckon there’s still some hope for a nice mountain view. The groomed runs are holding up well and are good and edgeable. Anticipate the snow to firm up and gain some variability as day wears into Night Skiing. It’s a good idea to ski with caution and be prepared for variable conditions. The piste is retaining an exciting squeaky quality as last week’s dry, low density snow incorporates into our snowpack. It’s shaping up to be a great start to the work week!
6:30 Conditions Report:
Good morning Skiers!
I hope you enjoyed the sun yesterday, as we are set to get a little more of it today. There is an Easterly weather pattern moving in, bringing with it some warm, dry air from the interior of the state. Expect some sunlight mixed with some clouds across the mountain. There’s a chance we’ll get some nice views from the summit, so look out for that. I anticipate the snow base will start the day firmer, and soften with traffic. Get here early to secure some laps on the cords, or ski it late to play with the sluffy settled spray. We’re open until 9pm tonight so you’ve got time, but it’s a great sunny day to get some vitamin ski.
See you on the mountain!

Terrain*
Early season conditions exist and limited terrain will be open. Low coverage in places with marked and unmarked obstacles. Please stay on open runs and respect all rope lines/trail closures as they are there for your safety.
There is no snowmaking off of Chair 3, so these trails are open on natural snow only with limited grooming. Only advanced skiers and riders prepared for variable conditions & coverage should ride Chair 3. As always, we urge you to ski and ride with caution and take it easy as you ease onto new terrain.Â
Our snowmaking team has been hard at work building up the snowbase on Chair 4 terrain. Snowmaking infrastructure only exists on lower portions of Chak Chak and Sitkum, so despite the great improvements earned by our snowmaking team, this terrain is dependent on natural snowfall as well. Because of their efforts, Chair 4 terrain is shaping up well and while we aren’t certain when we will be able to open up this part of the mountain, things are looking optimistic.
Snowmaking operations will continue whenever possible to expand terrain and improve coverage. This may include:
- Modified terrain availability
- Snowmaking equipment operating on open runs
- Variable surface conditions in areas where snowmaking is underway
Expected open terrain for 12/28:Â
Scheduled groomed terrain: Mimi, Tumwater, Sunspot, & Pika Peak beginner area will be groomed.
Scheduled ungroomed terrain: Upper portion of Tumwater, part of the Fun Park zone, Bomber Access Road, Kiwa (Upper Kiwa will remain closed), Java, Â Lower Toketie, Johnson’s, Tyee, & Kwan
For night skiing, Sunspot, Tumwater, Mimi, & Pika Peak will be open.
*Run status may change at any time.
