10:30 Conditions Report:
I’m really feeling the community spirit at The Ridge today. There is sweeping vistas bathed in golden morning light to bask in at the summit… and a shadier descent as you drop down into Tumwater 2 (the middle part of Tumwater). Hopefully as the sun rises, we’ll see some of that light shining on Lower Tumwater near Midway. The slopes are skiing wonderfully, still squeaky with some cordage to be found. The tippy top of Sunspot seems to be accumulating a playful sluff from traffic, but lower piste is holding up well. As morning turns to afternoon, these firm but edgeable conditions may develop into hard pack and variable conditions. Sun affected and higher elevations may soften throughout the day before firming up again as the sun goes down and The Ridge heads into Night Skiing. I’m hearing reports of some minor variability in the piste on Mimi, probably from previous snowmaking which tends to produce wetter snow. I haven’t noticed but it’s a good reminder to ski and ride with caution. Mostly what I’ve heard, however, is how happy people are to be spending the day with their families on the slopes.
Night rentals are sold out for tonight, 12/30/25.
6:30 Conditions Report:
Good morning Skiers!
With that Easterly weather pattern moving in, conditions might get a little unique. An inversion is anticipated to settle over the mountain, keeping temperatures low at the base and Midway while allowing the summit to get a little warmer. I’m already seeing this reflected in the weather data collected at these three points across The Ridge. We’re forecast to get a little sun across the mountain today, which is always a nice treat in these wintery months. Expect conditions at the summit to get a bit spring-like as the day progresses, especially in areas that get some sun. Lower elevations should stay firmer, tucked in their bubble of cold air.
We’re excited to host a special Numerica Credit Union Night Ski this evening! All 500 free night skiing tickets generously provided by Numerica Credit Union have sold out, and we’re looking forward to a great night under the lights. Please note that ski and snowboard rental availability will be limited this evening. A huge thank you to Numerica Credit Union for helping so many members of our community enjoy turns under the lights and create memorable winter experiences here at Mission Ridge.
See you on the mountain!

Terrain*
Early season conditions exist and limited terrain will be open. Low coverage in places with marked and unmarked obstacles. Please stay on open runs and respect all rope lines/trail closures as they are there for your safety.
There is no snowmaking off of Chair 3, so these trails are open on natural snow only with limited grooming. Only advanced skiers and riders prepared for variable conditions & coverage should ride Chair 3. As always, we urge you to ski and ride with caution and take it easy as you ease onto new terrain.Â
Our snowmaking team has been hard at work building up the snowbase on Chair 4 terrain. Snowmaking infrastructure only exists on lower portions of Chak Chak and Sitkum, so despite the great improvements earned by our snowmaking team, this terrain is dependent on natural snowfall as well. Because of their efforts, Chair 4 terrain is shaping up well and while we aren’t certain when we will be able to open up this part of the mountain, things are looking optimistic.
Snowmaking operations will continue whenever possible to expand terrain and improve coverage. This may include:
- Modified terrain availability
- Snowmaking equipment operating on open runs
- Variable surface conditions in areas where snowmaking is underway
Expected open terrain for 12/28:Â
Scheduled groomed terrain: Mimi, Tumwater, Sunspot, & Pika Peak beginner area will be groomed.
Scheduled ungroomed terrain: Upper portion of Tumwater, part of the Fun Park zone, Bomber Access Road, Kiwa (Upper Kiwa will remain closed), Java, Â Lower Toketie, Johnson’s, Tyee, & Kwan
For night skiing, Sunspot, Tumwater, Mimi, & Pika Peak will be open.
*Run status may change at any time.
