12/6/25 Conditions Report

12:20 Operations Update:

Chair 2 is now open!

Conditions remain blustery at the summit, but winds have died down significantly compared to last night and early this morning. We are experiencing some flurries and intermittently heavier snowfall across the mountain.

9:45 Conditions Update:

Surfaces on Mimi are quite firm after a night of dynamic weather including mixed precipitation and high winds. The corduroy definitely had a high moisture content overnight which has since frozen up quite a bit, but you can just about put an edge into the piste with a little effort. We’re hovering just below the clouds at Midway and seeing some light flurries and breezy conditions. The contrast between the fog-enshrouded upper summit and the sunny valley below is setting a dramatic scene for some early season skiing & riding.

We’re seeing a decreasing trend in winds at the summit, but we are still seeing gusts to around 60. Here’s to hoping for a continued decline in wind speeds, and we’ll keep you updated if we are able to get Chair 2 open later today. We’re likely to see continued on-and-off flurries throughout the day with potential for up to an inch of accumulation.

8:45 Operations Update:

Chair 2 will start day on hold due to high winds. Chair 1 & the Pika Peak Rope Tow are open.

6:30 Conditions Report:

Good Morning Skiers! Opening weekend rolls on as the sun dawns for another wonderful day at The Ridge.

Wind conditions continued to build overnight and remained high into the morning. We anticipate Chair 2 will start the day on a wind hold. Our summit telemetry is currently reporting the wind speed incorrectly on our website. We are seeing sustained winds into the mid 30s and gust up to mid 60 mph at the summit. We encourage you to ease into the season and, as always, ski and ride with care. Early season conditions and areas of thin cover will exist, and remember to respect all rope lines and trail closures – they are there for your safety.

The mountain wakes to the gift of a kiss of snow on the summit. A weather pattern from the west has been moving in, bringing with it some cold air and moisture off the ocean, as well as some gusts. Today’s weather is forecast to continue that trend. We have a little sun riding in the forecast, so hopefully we’ll get some good views from the top. Overnight temperatures stayed below freezing at the summit and were more variable at lower elevations so expect the base to be softer at the summit and firmer down below. It’s possible we’ll see some more snow accumulation at the summit as the day progresses.

This early-season, we’re continuing our tradition of honoring local heroes through the Firefighter and Emergency Personnel Appreciation program. From Opening Day through December 14th, we’re inviting Firefighters, EMTs, and Law Enforcement professionals—including 2025 seasonal personnel—to enjoy free skiing and riding as a thank-you for their service. See you on the mountain!
