10:00 Conditions Update:
We’re measuring an inch and a half around the Base Area already, two and a half inches at the summit, and it’s still coming down. The fresh fallen snow has a wonderful light and airy quality like a French meringue if you’re classy like that. We’re staying in some calm and comfortable temperatures and if you let them, those flakes with just sit gently on top of your jacket or hair, or camera in my case. It is skiing wonderfully out there today with this refresh. The snow is nice and soft underski and just a dream to sink an edge into. There’s a chance we could see the on-piste conditions develop some variability with traffic, but right now it’s snowing enough that it’s refilling with each lap. Conditions like these really speak for themselves, you just gotta get up here and carve it up.
8:00 Conditions Update:
Our forecast snowfall is a little bit more than punctual and decided to show up early. It’s coming down pretty good across the mountain yet and already at the base we have accumulated a thick dusting of snow. The consistency of the snow is surprisingly dry and aerated but it’s still packing underfoot, which indicates it’s going to be a nice buttery day for some riding.
6:30 Conditions Report:
Good morning skiers!
So there is a 70% chance of snow. Do I need to say more?
More specifically, there is forecast to be an interval of snowfall as morning transitions into afternoon where we are anticipating some accumulation on the slopes. This should keep our surfaces fresh throughout the day and give you a little something to spray or play around in as you cruise the groomers. We’re expected to have comfortable temperatures and some clouds, as is necessary for the snowfall in the forecast. I reckon we will start the day firmer with the groomers developing a creamy layer on top as the day progresses. This is just the start of a gentle squall rolling over the mountain and we’re forecast to keep accumulating white throughout the week bit by bit. Since we’ve all really honed our technique on the sunny days, I think everyone is more than equipped to enjoy some freshies that we’ve got in store.
See you on the mountain!
