10:00 Conditions Update:Â
Conditions are good out there on this chilly morning! The sun is starting to peek through, though the summit is still flitting in and out of a thin fog. Groomed runs are skiing well – smooth and edgeable, but a bit firmer than they’ve been over the past couple days. Ungroomed areas are retaining soft snow pretty well with these cold temps, and dropping down Katsuk was pleasantly softer than I had expected with packed powder conditions along the edges of the run. That said, if you go onto ungroomed terrain, you can definitely expect to encounter some chattery spots and variable coverage in addition to the soft areas. Out of the wind, it’s not particularly cold, but you’ll definitely be grateful for a face covering and the Chair 2 bubble when you pass through any wind-exposed spots. Snowmaking is active on Mimi at the moment as the crew continues working to bolster snowpack.
6:30 Conditions Report:
Partly sunny skies, chilly temps, and cold smoke leftovers are in store for us today! Yesterday brought us intermittent light snowfall that summed to just over an inch, and we awake this morning to a clearing trend above valley clouds. Groomed runs have been skiing fantastically over the past several days, and that trend should continue today, as cold temps and consistent light snowfall have persisted, giving the grooming and snowmaking teams the tools they need to lay down some excellent snow surfaces. On-piste, we’ll start the day with some neat and tidy corduroy that carves easily underfoot, and with very dry snow quality over the past few days, we’ll be throwing up sprays like it’s nothing. Ungroomed areas will continue to have variable conditions. Small refreshes have been coming in, but firm underlying snow and areas of thin cover will definitely be encountered as well.
It’s gonna be a chilly one today, especially in the morning at the summit. Wind chill values could drop below zero in areas that are exposed to the wind. Dress warm and don’t forget there’s hot cocoa awaiting you in the lodges! Fortunately, the sun should make an appearance at times throughout the day.
Sunspot will be closed today for a race. Turning right off Chair 2, Katsuk and Boundary Road will be accessible, with the Fun Park accessible by traversing over via Katsuk or via a lane to the skier’s left on upper Sunspot. Turning left off the lift, the upper part of Tumwater will be accessible, but this route will be ungroomed.
We’ll be open till 9pm for night skiing, and don’t forget that Bingo Night at Midway starts at 5:30! We will see you on the mountain!

Terrain*
Limited terrain will be open. Low coverage exists in places with marked and unmarked obstacles. Please stay on open runs and respect all rope lines/trail closures as they are there for your safety.
Snowmaking operations will continue whenever possible to expand terrain and improve coverage. This may include:
- Modified terrain availability
- Snowmaking equipment operating on open runs
- Variable surface conditions in areas where snowmaking is underway

Ticket Prices for Chair 1, Chair 2, Chair 4, and the Pika Peak rope tow and Ottobahn Carpet: Day tickets are $85 for ages 25-69, $75 for ages 18-24, $55 for ages 13-17, $45 for ages 8-12, $9 for ages 7 & under and $25 for ages 70+ for tickets purchased in advance and online.
All ticket types are valid until closing, including night skiing.
