1:00pm Update:Â Due to the continued high winds at the summit and forecast for high winds to continue, Chair 2 will be closed for the remainder of the day.
10:00 Conditions Update: Snow is coming down summit to base. The base is edgeable, if you can carve down to it through the inches of fresh on top. The consistency of the new snow is velvety and unobtrusive. The wind has set in across the mountain, abating slightly at lower elevations. It’s pretty directional and will feel different depending on what part of the mountain you’re skiing. Despite this, there isn’t much wind scour and the layer of white on top is even across the groomers. Temperatures are comfortable and I found the skiing quite enjoyable once I covered any exposed skin.
9:30am Update: Chair 2 is currently on hold due to high winds at the summit. We will continue to update regarding the status of Chair 2.
8:30 Conditions Update: We are seeing the forecast high winds at the summit. The forecast calls for increasing winds throughout the morning. There is a possibility that winds could impact operations today.
6:30 Conditions Report: Yesterday’s predicted snow came down and it was a much needed refresh on our spring snow surfaces. The sweet end of day conditions yesterday will be likely similar to the conditions today, with a velvety layer of fresh that continued to fall overnight. Surfaces may have firmed up as temperatures dropped below freezing overnight and will stay below freezing throughout the day. Winds are forecast to be high near the summit but, fingers crossed, we’re hoping the wind plays nice and comes in more mild than predicted.
We’ll see you on the mountain!
