two skiers slide under coal t blue sky

3/21/26 Conditions Report

10:00am Conditions Update:

Terrain may be limited on the mountain today, but it’s a stellar day under a calm, cobalt blue sky!

The sun has already crested over the pines and is shining down on Chair One slopes. Mimi was last to be groomed this morning, making its surfaces aerated and soft underfoot straight out of the gates. As it will see more sun through out the day, I’m anticipating those edge-able crisp crystals on Mimi to become soft corn, making for some fun surfy slashes all day. As temps are not predicted to rise as much as they have in the past few days, we may not see the same thaw pattern that has been turning the corn snow to wet slush by the afternoon, which is a good thing!

Runs off Chair 4 are firmer in nature, and may not release until later in the day as they are more shaded from the sun this morning. I recommend heading that way this afternoon as the conditions may hold up longer, due to less traffic and less sun exposure.

As we’ve seen significant melt over the last week, it’s good to be mindful that coverage could be thin in places, and there may be exposed areas on and off -piste. This is a good reminder to always ski and ride with caution.

Im anticipating any off-piste riding to be very firm and less enjoyable than just one week ago, on that beloved Powder day!

Wherever you find yourself today, make sure to stop and breathe in some fresh mountain air and soak up the views of our beautiful mountain and the valley below!

Happy spring Folks!

6:30 Conditions Report:

Good morning skiers and riders!

Chair 1, Chair 4 to midway, 100 Laps rope tow and the magic carpet are scheduled to operate today. Chair 2 and Chair 3 will not be operating, so access to off piste terrain will be limited. The Upper Basin remains closed due to increasing avalanche risk following the sustained warm temperatures earlier this week. Chair 2 will reopen when conditions permit, while Chair 3 will remain closed for maintenance through the weekend. Pika Peak rope tow is closed.

Open runs today will include Sitkum, Lower Chak Chak, Mimi, and Pika Peak. And for the park lovers out there, we will have Lil Bomber Park open, and 100Laps Park opening later in the morning once take offs are perfected after a little rebuild action took place yesterday.

Today’s forecast is calling for Sunshine, with a high near 29, and temps rising as we descend toward the Base area. West winds at the summit of up 34mph will keep temps cooler up there, but may not affect us snow sliders as we enjoy our turns at lower, more sheltered elevations today.

Although temps rose through the week, we are seeing a slightly cooler trend today. With the combination of temps hovering just above freezing level overnight, and the grooming team hitting all open runs when temps were at their coolest, we can expect snow conditions to start out crisp and edge-able on-piste and much firmer off-piste. Surfaces may start that way throughout the morning as temps are forecast to stay cooler, and potentially progress to more of a slushy crystal, corn-like consistency if the day warms up.

Off-piste riding will boast variable conditions: firmer and exposed surfaces through out, so if you choose to venture off the groomed runs, as always, please ride with caution.

We can’t wait to see you on the slopes today to celebrate Spring Equinox and all the fun that spring brings to our mountain.

*Due to an issue with the summit weather instrumentation, our summit wind speed is not reporting accurately at this time. We are working with our partners at NWAC to resolve this issue.
