10:00 Conditions Update:Â
Our Bomber Banked athletes are warming up to some good turns on crisp velvet this morning! The grooming team did a good job laying down a smooth layer this morning, which is firmer and drier up top while softer and damper down below. It’s a good time to carve some nice arcs while things are still smooth and consistent. Beneath the softer top layer, there are areas of hardpack that will become exposed as the day progresses. We will see more variable conditions develop over time, with some areas scraped off to hardpack while soft spring conditions develop atop those surfaces. Come up soon to enjoy the smoothest ride of the day!
Temps are cool but mild and the forecasted wind has not materialized just yet, leaving us with clam and clear conditions under mostly cloudy skies. We’ll see you on the mountain!
6:30 Conditions Report:
Good morning skiers and riders! A hint of sunrise glow is starting to appear at the far eastern horizon, while clouds have moved in overhead during the night. This has moderated our temperature fluctuations on the mountain, keeping things a bit warmer overnight while tamping down the projected highs for today. We’re currently seeing temps in the mid-20s at the summit and mid 30s in the Base Area. As the day continues, cloudy skies will stick around and potentially produce a light snow shower in the afternoon. Temps will rise toward 40 on the lower mountain while the uppermost slopes may stay below freezing.
Another spring conditions cycle will likely develop today, with surfaces starting the day firm before releasing into dense spring conditions in trafficked areas. This process will start on the lower slopes and work its way upward. With slightly colder temps and minimal direct sunlight, the upper mountain may stay firm and dry for the full day. Coming up early will be your best chance to score some crisp corduroy turns, while later in the day will be the time to seek out some softer corn snow atop the firmer base. Anything ungroomed will remain very firm all day with widespread areas of thin coverage.
The active weather system moving into the region will also bring increasing winds in addition to cloud cover and a chance of an afternoon snow shower. In the afternoon, we could see sustained winds pushing into the 30s at the summit, with gusts to the 50s in exposed spots on the upper mountain.
Today’s scheduled runs include Sunspot, Tumwater, Mimi, Bomber Access Road, Pika Peak, Lower Sitkum, & Lower Chak Chak, along with 100Laps and Lil Bombers Parks.
Keep in mind that today is our last day of daily operations for the 25/26 season. We will be closed starting tomorrow (Monday, 3/30) until Friday (4/3). We will then re-open on Saturday (4/4) and Sunday (4/5) for our final weekend of the season, so come get some turns while they’re still available!
Don’t forget that 26/27 Season Passes are on sale now! Choose the pass that fits your schedule from Twilight, Core Value, Mid-Week, or Premier, and get stoked for the 26/27 season.
We’ll see you on the mountain!
*Due to an issue with the summit weather instrumentation, our summit wind speed is not reporting accurately at this time. We are working with our partners at NWAC to resolve this issue.
