9:45 Conditions Update:Â
We’re fully in the swing of things this morning, with eggs, flamingoes, and more being uncovered left, right, and center! Vibes are enthusiastic to close out the season with no shortage scavenger-hunting. One thing that won’t take much hunting to scavenge: soft spring snow! It’s right there for the taking, with conditions already softening up on Tumwater and below. The sun has broken through most of the clouds and temps are well on their way toward 50 on the lower mountain. T-shirts, unzipped jackets, and even a few pairs of shorts have been sighted on the mountain thus far. Â Up high, Sunspot is just starting the softening process, so there’s probably a few more laps of classic crisp groomed surface ready for the taking. Winds are modest at the summit and calm elsewhere.
If you do get lucky and spot a flamingo, bring it to Midway to collect your prize if you find it on Chair 2 and Chair 4 terrain. Flamingoes on Mimi are intended for kids and can be turned in at reception! We hope you enjoy your last turns of the season, and thank you for coming out to celebrate with us.
6:30 Conditions Report:
We’re about to put a wrap on the 25/26 Season, and while it’s bittersweet to see it go, we’re getting ready to send things off with a bang on one more springtime Sunday! Happy Flamingo Days, Happy Easter, & Happy Closing Day from the mountain – we have some classic spring skiing and awesome events to offer up today.
The spring conditions cycle will remain in action, with firm conditions in the morning releasing into soft, dense corn snow as the day continues. Overnight temperatures have dropped into the upper 30s, which, combined with mostly clear overnight skies, has allowed the snowpack to freeze back up. Groomers will be riding smooth & firm to start the morning, with some crisp corduroy laid down by our grooming crew one last time. Today’s high temperatures again look balmy, rising into the 40s in the Upper Basin and 50s down low. The softening pattern will start from the low elevations and work its way upward.
Some clouds have moved in during the early morning hours, and we are currently experiencing mostly overcast skies that’ll probably have a few spots of sunlight filtering in throughout the day. With less direct sun exposure, the spring conditions cycle will be slowed down somewhat, but not stopped. This could help surfaces keep running a little smoother than yesterday on the lower mountain, hopefully keeping us in the realm of ‘corn’ rather than ‘slush.’
That’s good, because you don’t want to be getting bogged down this morning: our flock of flamingoes is back in hiding all around the open runs. Don another bright outfit and come partake in Day 2 of one of our favorite traditions. One flamingo holds the keys to a 26/27 Premier Pass! For all the info on Flamingo Days, click here.
We’re also hosting Easter on the Mountain today, complete with a delicious buffet from 7:30-11 and an egg hunt starting at 9 on Mimi & Pika. For all the details on Easter at The Ridge, click here.
Scheduled lifts for today include Chair 1, Chair 2, Chair 4 to mid-station, and all surface lifts. Scheduled trails include Sunspot, Tumwater, Mimi, the Fun Park area, Bomber Access Road, Lower Sitkum, Lower Chak Chak, and the Pika Peak Learning Area, along with 100Laps Park and Lil Bombers Park.
Don’t forget that 26/27 Season Passes are on sale now! Choose the pass that fits your schedule from Twilight, Core Value, Mid-Week, or Premier, and get stoked for the 26/27 season.
Thank you for a fun season, and we’ll see you on the mountain one last time this winter!
