3/7/2026 Conditions Report

10am Conditions Update:

As I made my way up Chair One I could hear the creek gurgling and birds chirping, and as the sun popped over the Ridge it began to warm my cheeks. I’m soaking up the spring vibes today, and you should too, as another wintry cold front is forecast to hit the mountain in the coming days.

For today though, spring is definitely in the air as temps rise quickly and surfaces are softening up in sun soaked areas.  Today would be a great day to layer a fresh coat of spring wax on your bases. The slopes are soft and already getting sticky at Midway. The firmer surfaces up at the summit and in the upper basin are releasing in sun soaked areas and good to lay down a nice edge-able carve. In the lower basin towards the base area the corn-like snow that’s already in the sun is becoming more dense and wet, which will make for some fun slushy slashes as the day progresses. My suggestion would be to go get some turns over on Lower Chak Chak while its still shady, a low traffic area, and steeper in pitch!

The wind is strong at times up towards the summit, with gusts blowing scattered clouds in and out over the Ridge. This effect is casting a foggy aura over our friend the Yeti, but for the most part blue skies prevail and are forecast to do so through out the remainder of the day.

Off-piste riding will be variable with heavier turns in sunny spots and the snow holding up better in shady areas. My suggestion would be to hunt out some fun turns on Chair Three trails, but always be mindful that conditions are variable and exposed in some places, changing through out the course of the day.

Enjoy the sun everyone!

6:30 Conditions Report:

Good morning skiers and riders!

As I arrived this morning, I was graced by the familiar hum of the groomers buzzing around the mountain, as always, working hard to provide you with the goods. With temps just dipping below freezing at the summit overnight, we will start the day off with firmer groomed surfaces up top, and as you make your way down to Midway through to the Base area you can expect things to become more loose corn-like snow. Speaking of, that reminds me of a joke! What is a skier’s favorite food in the spring time? Corn! Ok, that was corny for sure, but it does trend with what we will be seeing, as far as snow conditions go, with lower elevation surfaces becoming denser and more wet as temps rise significantly through out the day.

As far as off-piste surface conditions go, you can expect conditions to be firmer at the summit, with snow loosening as the sun hits the slopes, and potentially remaining firmer in shaded areas. Snow down below will also start out firm, but soften and become more dense and wet as the sunshine warms things up. As always, please remember to ski and ride with caution as unmarked obstacles and exposed and variable conditions exist.

The sun is forecast to shine through partly cloudy skies, and we will be seeing temperatures rise as high as 50f at the base area, and up into the 40’s at the summit. This is good news for those wanting to work on your goggle tan before the next storm system rolls in.

Hold on to your hats (or helmets!) folks, we are also forecast to see high winds this afternoon blowing in from the west, ranging from 35-45mph.

Already missing the buzz of Night Riding and Mountain Music on Saturday evenings? Me too! Don’t fret, in classic Mission Ridge fashion, we will keep the good times rolling for you this weekend with Rails and Ales going on in town tonight. With athletes of all ages and mixed abilities, we are sure to see a good show as they put their rail-sliding skills to the test for us under the lights of downtown Wenatchee!

For all the wonderful winter sports women and amazing mountain mamas and out there, we are so stoked to celebrate you for International Women’s Day tomorrow, Sunday 8th, in partnership with Shred-It Sisters! Check out the website for more details!

There is so much going on this weekend and we can’t wait to see you on the mountain!
