As our teams continue to work through difficult and unseasonably warm conditions, we have an operational change for tomorrow, Wednesday, January 14:
Chair 4 will be closed tomorrow as we begin installing a mid-Chair 4 unload. This will allow guests to unload partway up Chair 4 and access the snowmaking terrain on the lower half of Chair 4 once the mid-unload is in place. With the warm temperatures we’ve been experiencing, and the short-term forecast calling for more of the same, we’re making this move proactively to help preserve Chair 4 terrain and keep it accessible longer this season.
We will plan to have Chair 1, Chair 2, the Pika Peak Rope Tow, and the Ottobahn Carpet scheduled for operation from 9am to 9pm.
This season has been a challenging one. And just when it seemed like things were getting back to “normal,” we’ve been hit with another round of very unseasonably warm weather. While we avoided much of the rain experienced elsewhere in the Cascades, we saw more than our fair share of warm temps and hot winds. This recent weather has reduced our already low snowpack and we are continuously working to make changes to keep as much of the mountain open as possible.
All that being said, we had many amazing moments out on the mountain with our cherished guests. Mission Ridge exists to provide joy and a sense of freedom to our community. Seeing you all out on the mountain and feeling your support through this rougher than expected first portion of the season makes all the hard work more than worth it. Thank you all for being part of the Mission Ridge community! We look forward to doing everything we can to keep seeing you out on the mountain.
