INTRODUCTORY CLASS: BASIC MOUNTAIN SAFETY
Sunday February 21, 2010 from 10am-2pm
Ski Area Basics: avalanche awareness, rescue techniques, tree well and deep snow safety, basic first aid and reporting procedures. Although this course is primarily directed toward the 10-15 year age group, others are welcome to register:
- The Skiers Responsibility Code
- Ski Area Safety: Warning Sings and Park Etiquette
- First Aid Basics and Injury Reporting
- Off-Trail Safety: Skiing with a Buddy and Tree Wells
- Ten Backcountry Gear Essentials
- Avalanche and Avalanche Rescue
- Beacons, Probes and Shovels
This is a four hour class and class size will be limited to no more than 25 students.
