Mountain Safety

A workshop intended for the younger skiiers and snowboarders.

This introduction workshop is designed to give you an overview of staying safe on the mountain as well as what to do if a problem occurs

This workshop covers:

  • Safety Code
  • Trail Maps
  • Battle of the Signs
  • Avalanches
  • Beacon, Probe & Shovel
  • Medical
  • Tree Well
  • Recognizing Snow Pits

*Students should come prepared to spend time outside in the snow. (Snow pants & coat, warm boots, hat, and gloves.)

**We will spend a significant amount of time outside. Folks could also bring a snack; 4 hours of class tends to make people hungry!
