Saturday 12/9 Forecast

Those of you who were here yesterday will agree with me that it was a beautiful day to be on the hill. Today we are expecting similar, sunny conditions with primetime views of the Cascades from the top of Chair 2. We are excited to announce that we will be opening the 100 Laps Terrain Park today with our Rope Ruckus event. Early morning we expect firm groomed conditions to soften over the course of the day as temperatures increase on the upper mountain. The clouds are clearing in the base area and the chairs are spinning, serving up fresh corduroy and blue skies! Despite the view from the chair, the coverage is very thin off of the open, groomed runs. Please observe and respect all posted closures and rope lines as many of these have changed since yesterday. We’re looking forward to seeing you all on the hill today for some more fun in the sun. -Kai

Friday 12/8 Forecast

TGIF! We are excited to get back out on the mountain this morning for another fun weekend of skiing and riding. The recent inversion looks to continue throughout the weekend so get up out of the valleys, out of the clouds, and come slide around in the sun with us! We anticipated firmer groomed conditions in the morning to soften over the course of the day as temperatures increase and more people lay down tracks. It will be a bit warmer near the top of the mountain this weekend with the inversion and the sun certainly will not be a stranger. We are open this weekend Friday through Sunday 9am-4pm. 10am Update: The sun is up and our excitement to get back out on the hill this morning was well warranted. The groomers did a nice job last night to prep the main runs and patrol has some ungroomed terrain open for the adventurous folks as well. Staying on the designated, groomed runs is stil strongly suggsted as we have low snow coverage off of the open, greoomed runs. Rather warm ridge top temperatures are enjoyable, but the ridgeline on the east of the mountain is providing plenty of shade to maintain a quality snow surface. OK, enough chat, time to get back out there! See you on the hill, -Kai

Friday Preview

Who is ready to get back out on the mountain? A massive high pressure ridge moved in this past week and looks to persist through the weekend, at least until Tuesday. This has meant clear skies and no natural snow, but a lot of good temps for snowmaking. The MRSM crew has once again be out on the mountain, hard at work building up that base for your enjoyment! Expect base area temperatures in the mid-20s and ridge-top daytime temperatures in the low 40's for much of the weekend. While it's cloudy and grey in the lowlands, sunny, clear skies will dominate at Mission Ridge. Conditions will be perfect to rediscover your form and wake up those legs in anticipation of the return of winter. See you on the hill, -Kai

Sunday 12/3 Forecast

The month of December is off to a great start! We received another 1” of new snow overnight which has us sitting at 5” in the last 24 hours, 7” in the last 48 at Midway and 4" in the last 24, 6" in 48 at the top of the mountain. Last night also saw cold temps for continued snowmaking as well. You can look forward to nice groomed conditions again today with a bit of the soft stuff off the sides of the runs. Early season conditions with low snow levels are definitely still present so make sure to stay on open runs, watch for marked and unmarked obstacles, and respect all rope lines and trail closures as they are there for your safety. Additional terrain will open as conditions permit. See you on the hill, -Tony

Sunday Preview

What a fun day! Poor visibility in the morning gave way to fresh snow mountain wide by mid-day. This fresh snow helped to turn the nice groomed conditions this morning into some fresh fluffy turns by end of day. We have picked up 4" of new snow today and as of 5:20pm it is still dumping. A couple more inches are forecast tonight so keep your fingers crossed and stay tuned in. New terrain will open as conditions permit. See you on the hill, -Tony
