Saturday 2/25 Forecast

12:45pm Update: Parking spaces are opening up in the main parking lot. It has been an amazing first half of the day with tons of sun and tons of fun! To fully describe how awesome the slopes are this morning I am going to refer back to my native Australian language, and declare that, “she’s a beauty out there mates!” Blue skies, calm breeze, and cool temps are keeping those surface conditions totally mint! The cords are crisp and fast and off-piste shreddin’ is still soft in some places! Snow clouds are forecast to roll in later on to provide some freshies for tomorrow so enjoy the sunshine while it lasts! Starting at 11am we have the  Durak skier’s only rail jam competition taking place in the 100Laps park today, if you’re riding up chair One you’ll have some of the best seats in the house, just sit back, relax and enjoy the show from the comfort of the chairlift! And don’t stop the good times there, come rock the night away one last time with Massy Fergusson and all your friends for the final night riding session and Mountain Music Series of the season... I’d say there’s no better destination for your Saturday adventures than Mission Ridge! See you out there, -Skier Amy

And the conditions are equally as epic as the scenery! The cold temps are keeping the surface conditions fresh for your sliding pleasure! The groomers are  tight and fast and the pow stashes off-piste are still light, soft and worth adventuring around for! Calm and blue skies are giving way to snow clouds rolling in this afternoon with potential snow in the mix! Come hit the slopes for an awesome day! See you out there, -Skier Amy

Some days I’m not too sure whether I’m still dreaming, today is one of those days! The conditions are epic up the Ridge with another top up of 2” of snow overnight, blue skies, a calm breeze and cool temps keeping the surface conditions PRIMO! My hike up Windy Ridge was well worth the effort this morning as I laid out some epic turns through super light pow! The powder then transitioned perfectly into tight, fast cords flowing down Skookum! If you aren’t already on the slopes enjoying the goods, I suggest you do whatever you can to make it happen, because today is shaping up to be pretty awesome! See you out there, -Skier Amy

10:00am Update The mountain is epic today.  The cooler temps have provided firm support for the corduroy so its fast!  Sunshine blasting down, nobody around, feels like the mountain is all to myself.  Off Piste terrain has plenty of powder dashing for the adventurist souls out there.  Can't wait to get back out!   Good morning!  It’s Wednesday which means you're halfway through your work week!  Congratulations!  You need a break so why don’t you take the day off and come ski under sunny bluebird skies?  Expect Mission’s zippy corduroy in the morning followed by perfect temps and a mountain of terrain to explore.  Winter won’t last forever, which has some of you breathing a sigh of relief while the rest of us try and take advantage of every day left in the season!  It’s a great day to ski!  Today in History, one of the most dramatic upsets in Olympic history, the 7th seed underdog U.S. hockey team, made up of college players, defeats the four-time defending gold-medal winning Soviet team in the 1980 Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid, New York. The Soviet squad, previously regarded as the finest in the world, fell to the youthful American team 4-3 before a frenzied crowd of 10,000 spectators. Two days later, the Americans defeated Finland 4-2 to clinch the hockey gold. Speaking of Winter Games, the Special Olympics returns to Mission Ridge March 3rd, 4th, and 5th.  So come out and support these talented athletes. Let’s Ride! -Matt

Tuesday 2/21 Preview

Chair 4 Outback was going off this afternoon, thank goodness I switched to my powder board which was a very wise decision.  There are so many powder runs left but it’s ok, we will leave them on tap for ya tomorrow.  Tuesday forecast is looking pretty sweet.  The long weekend is over but the week has just begun, so keep your skis and boards on the roof racks and get to the mountain tomorrow for more tight corduroy and some funky powder slashing.  Let’s Ride! -Matt

1:35pm Update: We now have all Chairs in Operation. We have picked up a total of 3" of new snow today for a total of 4" since 4pm yesterday. Morning Report: Happy Presidents Day!  Honoring our first President of the United States I’ve got three things you probably didn’t know about George Washington, he is the highest ranking US Official of all time, he has no middle name, and he owned a whiskey distillery.  Bonus fact, apparently that was his real hair, not a wig.  We received 1 inch of snow over night, 4 inches in the last 48 hours, with weather forecasting fresh snowfall all day long!  Expect those tight corduroys you’ve grown to love, perfect temperatures, and quite possibly mini-free refills throughout the day.  Remember we are open all week for midwinter break.  This weekend is the final night ski and Mountain Music Series concert so make plans now.  Also, check out this weekend's 100Laps competition Durak!  See our website for event details!   Let's Ride! -Matt Snow showers before 10pm, then snow likely after 1am. Steady temperature around 27. Breezy, with a west wind 15 to 20 mph decreasing to 9 to 14 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
