1/17/21 Conditions Report

It's shaping up to be a spring-like day on the mountain and the groomers should ride well this morning. Look for the groomers around the base area to midway to be a little softer than yesterday, especially as the day goes on. The temps have been a little warmer for the last 8 hours and we are forecasted to hit a high around 40 today. The upper mountain should feel a lot like yesterday, as temps have remained consistent up there and on the colder side, look for a change in surface conditions about halfway down or more. Look for the conditions to become firmer and more variable throughout the day. We recommend that only the adventurous explore the off-piste areas as it will be firmer to variable all over the mountain. We will have Chairs 1, 3, 4, the Pika Peak Rope Tow, and the 100LAPS Rope Tow scheduled for operation from 9 am to 4 pm and Chair 1, Chair 4, Pika Peak Rope Tow, and 100LAPS Rope Tow Scheduled for 4 pm - 9 pm for the night session.

1/15/21 Conditions Report

10 AM Update: There are some good turns to be had out there today and some good views currently. The top of Chair 3 and 4 both have a little layer of firmer crust on them, but once you hit about half-way down on both, the snow softens up quite a bit. The upper turns could become better as the day goes on, and more skiers/boarders break up that little top crust layer. The temps are supposed to drop later today, so look for conditions to become more variable. I would suggest not going off-piste, but I know some are more adventurous than I. Early Morning Report We should have another day of good groomer runs on our hands. Yesterday the groomers held up nicely all day and provided good turns beyond expectations. We do have some weather predicted to hit us some time today, and depending on where the temps land, expect the conditions to become variable across the mountain. We recommend that only the adventurous explore the off-piste areas as it will be firmer to variable all over the mountain. The conditions will become more variable as we progress through the day.

1/14/21 Conditions Report

10 AM Update: The sun is trying to come out and the wind is calm, making for some good views this morning. The grooming team, as always, did an excellent job and the groomed runs are riding good. For those who are just getting going, or are intermediate skiers/riders, the ungroomed and off-piste areas are variable and more challenging to ride. Make sure to take it easy your first run and get a feel for the mountain. Mostly sunny with calm winds! That's a nice change of pace for the start of this year. The temps have remained consistent and cold since last night and we've received 1" of new snow overnight, so the groomers should be in good shape this morning, and the sun should be out today. Be sure to take it easy your first run to get a feel for the conditions. We've had wild winter weather the last couple of days, with a trace of new snow yesterday, so expect off-piste to be firm to variable all over the mountain. The conditions will become more variable as we progress through the day.

1/12/21 Conditions Report

10am Update As predicted it is a wet and wild one out there! I just got in from a few runs on Chair 3 and the top 1/4 is fun and I even ventured off into some tree lines which were a little heavier, but not bad at all. From about mid-Chair 3 down, it becomes grabby, and wetter. You really want to have that warm weather wax on today. It's currently raining in the Base Area and the snow is grabby. It's a snow-rain mix at Midway, and heavy, wet snow at the top of Chair 3. Early Morning Report Wild winter weather. That is the best way to describe this morning. We received 10” of new snow overnight and the precipitation is still coming down. A heavy snow-rain mix is falling in the Base Area with heavy snow falling on the upper mountain. The forecast is a bit all over the place for today with several more inches of snow likely on the upper mountain. Rain before 7am, then snow between 7am and 10am, then rain after 10am is forecast for the Base Area. Conditions will be variable today depending on elevation. Expect heavy, wet snow across much of the mountain. Avalanche risk is high today. We will have Chairs 1, 3, 4, the Pika Peak Rope Tow, and the 100LAPS Rope Tow scheduled for operation from 9 am to 4 pm. Upper Mountain - Snow. Snow level rising to 7900 feet in the afternoon. Steady temperature around 29. Breezy, with a southwest wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible. Base Area - Rain before 7am, then snow between 7am and 10am, then rain after 10am. Snow level 6900 feet rising to 8200 feet in the afternoon. High near 40. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

1/11/21 Conditions Report

10 am Update - What a wonderful morning to cruise some corduroy! The Grooming Crew did a great job as always last night and it really doesn't get much better than this for carving some turns. Chak Chak was especially good off the top of Chair 4 today. The storm is starting to move in so look for setting an edge to transition to slashing pow in the next 36 hours. Early Morning Update - The start of a new week is bringing a new storm with it. Look for the weather to change over the course of the day today as a winter storm warning is in effect and we are about to really see the snow start to fly! There is an 80% chance of snow during the day today with 1” to 3” possible and up to 11” in the forecast by the end of the day Wednesday. January has been a great month for new snow so far and that trend doesn’t look like it’s changing anytime soon. Nice groomed conditions will become more variable through the day as the snow starts to stack up. We will have Chairs 1, 3, 4, the Pika Peak Rope Tow, and the 100LAPS Rope Tow scheduled for operation from 9 am to 4 pm. Forecast - 1/11 - Snow, mainly after 10am. High near 30. Southwest wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
