2/9/2021 Conditions Report

10 AM Update: The groomers were riding nice this morning, and I was able to find some easy pickings for some pow turns off-piste. The new snow over the last couple of days is super dry powder, so look for conditions off-piste to be variable. It is chiller today than it has been, so make sure to dress appropriately. A nice light dusting will make for some softer groomed runs early this morning. Off-piste [non-groomed] conditions remain variable around the mountain. At yesterdays (2/8) last chair guests were still finding untracked runs with pockets of wind deposited powder from the top of chair 3, today will likely yield similar results. It will be a chilly day and temperatures are expected to drop throughout the week, an extra layer and some hot hands will help you ski through the day. Chairs 1, 3, 4, the Pika Peak rope tow, and 100LAPS Rope Tows are scheduled for operation from 9 am to 4 pm. Please make sure to dress appropriately for the conditions and remember that we are asking that everyone use their car as their base camp as there is no inside seating at this time and capacity restrictions are in place for all inside spaces.

2/8/2021 Conditions Report

A nice blanket of snow was laid over the mountain the last night. This will translate to soft and smooth groomers from top to bottom. Off-piste [non-groomed] will be variable and depending on where the wind deposited snow you may run into pockets of powder. Temperatures are looking to drop as the week rolls on, as always dress appropriately for conditions, an extra layer might not be a bad idea!

2/7/21 Conditions Report

10 AM Update: The turns were good this morning, I rode Chair 3 a couple of times, and I was able to find some nice wind deposits of powder down the entire run. The groomers were riding well with some areas covered with powder. Look for the conditions to become more variable as the day goes on and off-piste (non-groomed). Will we see sun or snow while we slide through the end of the weekend? Only time will tell today but we look forward to making the most out of whatever the weather decides to deliver on nicely groomed runs. The temps are cool again today, and there will be some wind, so make sure to dress for ski and snowboard success by layering up. It is always a super Sunday if you get to strap on a snowboard or skis and we look forward to seeing you on the mountain. Forecast - A 40 percent chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 23. Breezy, with a west wind 18 to 24 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

2/5/2021 Conditions Report

10 AM Update:  The groomers were riding nice on Chair 3. I found some new powder pockets off-piste, and the sun was out over near the Hidden Valley section making for some spring-like turns.  The conditions off-piste about midway down chair 3 become more variable. Look for the runs to become more variable throughout the day. It is looking like another beautiful day on the mountain. Groomers are expected to start fast and firm, runs will soften as the sun warms things up throughout the day. Off-piste [non-groomed] conditions will be variable, with windy conditions last night, expect wind deposited snow in new areas. A previously skied out run may have filled in just for you. Softest turns will be found near the tops of chairs 3 and 4 with conditions changing near mid mountain where I might suggest joining a groomed run for the rest of your lap.  Chairs 1, 3, 4, the Pika Peak, and 100LAPS Rope Tows are scheduled for operation from 9 am to 4 pm with Chair 1, Chair 4, the Pika Peak, and 100LAPS Rope Tows scheduled for operation during Night Skiing from 4 pm - 9 pm. Please make sure to dress appropriately for the conditions and remember that we are asking that everyone use their car as their base camp as there is no inside seating at this time and capacity restrictions are in place for all inside spaces.

2/4/2021 Conditions Report

10 AM Update: The groomers were smooth this morning, and I found a couple of powder pockets off-piste on the top of Chair 3 and 4 that were fun. Off-piste becomes more variable as you work down from the top, so take it easy your first couple of runs to get a feel. Blue skies are expected to continue today with more great views from the mountain. The grooming crew has been doing an excellent job with the groomed runs, and today is no different. Groomers will be soft and smooth with runs firming up as you descend the mountain. Off-piste [non-groomed] conditions will be variable around the mountain with the more exploratory skiers finding powder stashes here and there. Patrol has been hard at work with avalanche mitigation, be smart, be safe, and always ski with a buddy when venturing into hiking terrain. Chairs 1, 3, 4, and the Pika Peak Rope Tow are scheduled for operation from 9 am to 4 pm with Chair 1, Chair 4, and the Pika Peak Rope Tow, Scheduled for operation during Night Skiing from 4 pm - 9 pm. The 100LAPS Rope Tow is currently closed as it is undergoing maintenance and will open as soon as possible. 2/3/2021 Conditions Report

10 AM Update: I just got in from a few runs and the upper part of Chair 3 was riding good on the groomers with a little new snow on top and off-piste I was able to find a couple of nice pockets of powder. About 3/4 of the way down on Chair 3 the off-piste became more variable, so take it easy your first couple of runs to get a feel for the mountain. The more adventurous should be able to find powder pockets all day. The temps are looking to stay on the colder side all day, so the turns should be good until 9pm. Look for the lower section of the mountain to become more variable as the day goes on. It is always great to arrive to a dusting on the mountain. Groomers are expected to be soft and cruisy. Off-piste [non-groomed] will continue to be variable, there are still some powder stashes to be found near the tops of chair 3 and 4. Expect conditions to be softer at the top and firm up as you make your way down the mountain. It is always a good idea to ski with feelers on those first runs before you charge into the day. 2/2/2021 Conditions Report

While it is always better to be on the slopes than in the office todays condtions are looking variable around the mountain. With temperatures fluctuating throughout the day we can plan to see a wide spectrum of surface conditions, from soft and sticky to fast, firm, and frozen and even some dry stashes at the top of 3. Expect these conditions to change as the day goes on and as you go up and down in elevation. Chairs 1, 3, 4 and the Pika Peak Rope Tow are scheduled for operation from 9 am to 4 pm today. The 100LAPS Rope Tow will be closed today for maintenance but the Park will be open for hiking and access via Chair 1. 2 skiers on a stormy day

2/1/2021 Conditions Report

9:30 am Update - It has been snowing hard this morning and there is about 1” of new snow on top of the PM groomed runs off of Chair 3. The turns on the upper portion of Skookum are super sweet and soft. The snow is drier up there making for wonderful skiing. The snow transitions to the heavier/wetter variety about the Chair 4 road crossover on Skookum and then becomes sticky and soft on Mimi heading into the Base Area. The forecast is calling for 2”-4” total of new snow today and things are looking promising for that to happen. Early Morning Report - We are starting the day on the warmer side with temps in the base and at summit currently at 38 degrees. Snow will be nice and soft at the base and we anticipate some firming up as you rise in elevation as we anticipate cooler temps on the way up the mountain. Off-piste [non-groomed] will be variable throughout the day with snow reacting to the days dropping temperature. Expect your speed to pick up as the day moves on and things start to cool down. Chairs 1, 3, 4, the Pika Peak Rope Tow, and the 100LAPS Rope Tow are scheduled for operation from 9 am to 4 pm. Please make sure to dress appropriately for the conditions and remember that we are asking that everyone use their car as their base camp as there is no inside seating at this time and capacity restrictions are in place for all inside spaces.
