Saturday 3/31 Forecast

10:30am Update: High clouds are obscuring the sun this morning, keeping the temperatures cool and the snow surface relatively firm, fast and fun with plenty of grip. The carving is excellent! March has come to an end, but the snow it provided will keep delivering fun times well into spring. It was cold and clear overnight, which will mean firm conditions this morning, but the sunshine and mild temperatures should have us making soft spring turns by midday. -Kai

9:30am Update: Barring one stubborn cloud at the Summit, it's a beautiful sunny day on the mountain The slopes are in great shape and the sunny side is already beginning to take on that perfectly soft spring consistency. The sun is burning off the clouds at the summit this morning, bringing a sunny spring day, perfect for carving turns on the groomers and, as things soften up, skiing some nice corn off-piste. -Kai

10:15am Update: Fantastic groomed conditions on the hill today, perfect for carving and getting your young ones or new skiers and riders out for their first time! Off-piste, variable spring conditions dominate. As the temperatures warm, there should be some nice corn for the taking. We're excited to be back on the hill today through 4/4. The snowpack is deep for this time a year, so it's great to have some bonus days to take advantage of the great conditions at the Ridge. We've been seeing cool nights and moderate daytime temperatures this week, so we're expecting some excellent spring skiing today both on and off-piste. -Kai

10am Update: The groomed conditions are top-5 of the season. In addition, there's still plenty of soft pow to be found on the Windy Ridge side of the hill and I expect to find some nice spring conditions in the sun on the Bomber side before the end of the day. It's an absolute stunner of a day out there! March has been good to us. The snow is good, the coverage is good and the weather is good. Today is going to be another stellar day. We're looking forward to sunny skies and some smooth, soft corduroy to finish off this amazing weekend! -Kai

10am Update:The clouds are beginning to clear, revealing some amazing views from the Summit. Great visibility and several inches of snow are combining to make for great skiing all over the mountain. Get on out there and join in on the fun! The calendar says March, but winter is still here, bringing even more snowfall this morning to add to our total for the week! The skiing has been soft and fun this week and we're expecting that to continue today. In the LibTech 100Laps Park, we'll be hosting the Tell A Friend Tour and King of the Rope competition. 10am Update: Powder Day! Several inches of blower pow on top of the dense snow from yesterday is skiing fantastic on the upper mountain. It's cold out there, so be sure to layer appropriately. There's plenty of terrain and it continues to snow, so if you get the chance to come up for the afternoon, I suggest you take it! We have received 3" of new snow this morning since 6am and it continues to snow fluffy flakes that are accumulating fast. Combined with 3" of new snow yesterday, this should make for some really great turns today. Let it snow! -Kai

9:30am Update: Visibility has steadily deteriorated since 8am. Please be cautious and try to ski near the trees to avoid falling due to vertigo. The new snow above Midway is sticking to the old snow surface and is smooth and fun! Ungroomed areas on and below Lower Tumwater is considerably stickier, so be aware of that transition as you make your way back to the lift and remember to not ski beyond your field of vision. The great thing about low-vis days is that it creates a whole new world out of runs we've been skiing all season and makes them exciting and challenging in a different way. Have fun! 2 inches of new snow overnight at Midway and we're expecting snow to continue off and on this morning. Clouds have settled in causing difficult visibility, primarily on the lower mountain at this time. Judging by the warm and wet snow in the base area, I'm expecting 2 inches of dense creamy snow on the upper mountain, which should make for some smooth fun turns. It should be a great day of storm skiing! -Kai

10am Update:The cold, clear night last night was very good to us and as a result, the leftover powder from yesterday on shaded aspects is as good or better than yesterday. On the other hand, surface conditions in direct sunlight are very firm, but expect to find some excellent spring corn as the sun works it's magic this morning. Have a great day soaking up some rays and ripping turns! It's shaping up to be another amazing day on the mountain. We're expecting clear skies and comfortable temperatures for cruisin' the corduroy and chasing down all those leftover powder stashes! -Kai
